@Bombardo Well said. It is the vast over reach, over spending and massive growth of unbridled government that is the real cause of our nations woes. We need to keep laser focus on dismantling big gov, if that person is also a religious conservative then the more the better!
How about instead of focusing on fairy tales and legislating morality, we focus instead on the people who are robbing this country blind and weakening our global position financially.
It won’t really matter what religion the president says he is when we are trading Yuan for bread.
Rhetoric like Santorum’s and Reagan’s is designed to appeal to people’s irrational fears of the unknown, and to promise protection from those fears. It’s empty, it’s fake, and it’s dangerous when we let ourselves focus on it instead of the real problems facing this country. Satan doesn’t keep raising the debt ceiling, satan didn’t create the housing bubble and global financial crisis, satan didn’t start wars that are financial black holes, and Jesus Christ isn’t going to fix it. We need real answers, not this nonsense.

Very nicely done, Reverend Blanchard. I’e been reading your columns for years. As to the issue of race, why is it that the overwhelming majority of voting black Americans continue to vote democrat? The democrat party has done almost irreparable damage to black society, moreso than any other racial group. For decades, they have promised black America the moon, while actually keeping them bound in the terrible chains of dependency. I am all for giving someone a hand UP; I’m damned sick of having the fruits of my labors confiscated to give HAND OUTS. Please convince the black community to quit voting suicidally for democrats!
