All gun laws do is rob law abiding citizens of the ability to defend themselves. I am a licenced handgun owner in GA and I truly hope that people will one day open their eyes and realize that criminals who want guns will continue to obtain them regardless of whatever laws our gov't sets forth.People should also understand that the police do not have a duty to protect the individual, they have an obligation to protect society as a whole. Police can't be everywhere, and therefore, the responsibility of defense should be left to the individual. 911 doesn't deter robbers, rapists, and murderers. If it did, the ongoing debate over gun rights wouldn't be necessary. If your home was, God forbid, broken into by criminals with murder in their minds and weapons in their hands, what would you rather have, a gun or a cell phone?
