I am buying a 20″ 7.62 x 39 upper and I am wondering if I need to buy a different lower to use it. Or can I attach to my lower assembly for the 5.56? I eventually wan to have a complete unit and know I have to buy the lower either complete or stripped through an FFL.

If I buy either a stripped lower or a complete assembly is it different? I will be buying mags for the 7.62 x 39 and the bolt carrier assembly and charging handle with tac latch will be part of the upper assembly.

Just trying to clear up the lower complete or stripped assembly question.

Yes you need to transfer it through a FFL as the lower receiver is considered the firearm.

Every other component can be mailed direct to you with no need to see your FFL.
