Great Falls, Mont. – Pheasants Forever (PF) will hold its Montana State Habitat meeting in Great Falls, Montana on Friday, June 26 & Saturday, June 27, 2009. To be held at the Best Western Heritage Inn, the meeting is for PF members, landowners, natural resource professionals and anyone interested in Montana wildlife habitat and upland birds.

The Montana State Habitat Meeting will kick off on Friday at 4:30 PM at the Sun River Skeet Club within the Great Falls Shooting Sports Complex with a networking and social event hosted by the Great Falls Chapter of PF. Saturday includes a full agenda of seminars and speakers. Seminars include How to get more pheasants and upland game in Montana, Sage Grouse Issues & Habitat with Dr. Dave Naugle from the University of Montana, and MT Habitat Programs & Tools. Howard Vincent, PF National President and CEO, will attend the meeting and deliver the keynote speech on the need for PF, Now! More Than Ever!

The meeting will conclude Saturday evening with a banquet that includes a silent auction, live auction and an awards presentation to recognize volunteers from across the state for their contributions to PF. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Montana Habitat Fund.

“We’re looking to connect leaders from Montana’s eighteen Pheasants Forever chapters with landowners, experts and upland bird enthusiasts to share best practices in improving wildlife habitat in Big Sky Country,” said Jon Lee, Pheasants Forever National Board member and a meeting organizer, “We want to provide all meeting attendees with the resources and ideas they need to continue to accomplish Pheasants Forever’s wildlife habitat mission.”

Since the first Montana chapter of PF formed in 1987, the state’s 18 chapters and 2,100 members have raised and spent over $2.3 million to complete over 950 habitat projects, conserving, restoring and enhancing over 32,500 Montana acres for pheasants and other wildlife.

    1. i just bought twenty five hundred caraganda trees and two hundred lilocs from missoula to plant here on tweenty acres and i have sixty acres more.i was talking to a freind and he said you might be able to help me. i don’t farm or graze the 80 aces anymore.i want to just let the birds have it.i live three miles north of culbertson mt.
