California –-(AmmoLand.com)- Legislation in California (SB 41) that would mandate additional procedures for consumers purchasing firearms and require the keeping of records by licensed firearms dealers that duplicate information already retained by them on other government forms, is being vigorously opposed by pro-gun groups in the Golden State, including the California Association of Firearms Retailers and Gun Owners of California (GOC).

“This proposed law would mandate duplication of information already required on other sales transaction forms and would create different procedures for each category of firearm that no doubt would create confusion for all parties involved in a firearms sales transaction,” said Sam Paredes, executive director of GOC. NSSF issued a legislative alert on four anti-gun California bills earlier this month.
