SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. –-(AmmoLand.com)- The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division selected Colonel Jack Bradford, ret. U.S. Army – Fort Gordon, as the 2008 Hunter Education Instructor of the Year.

“The State of Georgia is fortunate to have such a education instructor as Col. Bradford who is a proven asset to the department through his commendable efforts,” says Lt. Judd Smith, Wildlife Resources Division conservation ranger.

For more than 16 years, Bradford has served in this important educational capacity, teaching hundreds of youth and adults the importance of safe hunting. He regularly trains volunteers, schedules courses and assigns instruction blocks, ensuring that proper class preparation is followed. He primarily serves the Augusta-Richmond County area, but is well-known throughout the Thomson region.

Dedicated to youth and adult hunters, Bradford also volunteers as a range instructor at the Fort Gordon Sportsmen’s Complex. In addition, he also supports and assists the Medical College of Georgia, Children’s Medical Center, the Boy and Cub Scouts of America in the Augusta area and the WEE CAN SKI program, which allows children with special needs to experience water skiing on Clarks Hill Lake.
