In 2000 I fell 35' from a stand. I broke both legs and both hips. The doctor had to take my left leg below the knee. He said I may not walk again and sure would never climb a stand again. I went to rehab every day for a year and a half. From then I have taken several deer (from a stand ).Been to So. Dokota, Florida,Durango Mexico, and just returned from the Yucatan where I got my turkey world slam and a Brocket Deer.I use Dead Down Wind exclusively on deer of course ( Turkeys can't smell ). I tell you it works on game that can smell. I have always wanted to take a bear and would love to make the hunt with you. If nothing else I promise we will have fun. I have learned to live life because God says that you are not promised your next breath. The doctors had a plan for me but God had a different one. God Is Good !!!!Every hunt is a Dream HuntJoe

Mr. Nelson,<br

Dec of 2007 and January, 2008, since then I have been cancer free after receiving radiation treatments after the surgeries. In October,2008, I was cleaning our boat before storing it for the winter, when I leaned over the side of the boat to put the bucket of water close to the ground when I lost my balance and dove into the driveway, breaking C-2 in my neck, which is normally fatal. I was rushed to our local hospital and then transported by Flight for Life to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee where a team of 20 doctors were awaiting me. They told me they really didn't expect me to arrive alive, as C-2 breaks are almost always fatal. After numerous xrays, I was told that surgery would be impossible as it would certainly be fatal and I was fitted with a brace from my waist, behind my head and under my chin that held me head from moving.
I lived in that brace 24/7 for over 3 months. During that time, I was unable to do normal household activities, cook meals, do laundry, etc. and my husband did those chores as well as gave me support and love. The brace was removed at the end of January, 2009. A week later while I was stepping up one step from our garage into the house, something snapped in my left leg. Our doctor said it was a torn hamstring and sent me for physical therapy, 3 months later, it was still very painful and my leg and knee very swollen, I went to a orthopedic surgeon and she said it wasn't a hamstring injury but torn miniscus in my left knee and would require surgery.
In April, 2009, the surgery was performed and I had torn 3 miniscus and they were repaired. After the surgery I went for physical therapy weekly, but the pain continued and I still wasn't able to walk with a limp. When I again saw the surgeon, she said I would need another MRI as she could see that something was still wrong with my knee. After the MRI, I was advised that part of my bone in my knee had died and blood was not going through it to my lower leg, and that was why my leg was swollen and painful. In August, she performed a 2nd surgery, drilling holes in the bone so the blood could flow again, and finding a 4th torn miniscus, a fracture and cyst. Months later, I was still in pain constantly and after seeing her again, she suggested that I have a total knee replacement and she suggested a surgeon to do the surgery. On February 2, 2010, I had the total knee replacement and am now
having Physical Therapy and working on getting strength and building the muscles.Throughout the past 3 years, my husband took care of me and helped with tasks he had not done during our marriage. Washing clothes, cooking, cleaning, etc. as well as giving me strength, love and lots of care. I would like to reward him with this archery hunt because of his love and devotion for me. Please consider him for
the hunt, as he truly deserves it for the many hunts he has missed during the past 3 years. Thanks for the opportunity of winning this Dream HuntCarol

Dear Mr. Nelson

I am a 66 year old wife of a wonderful man who has helped and support me through the past three years of various illnesses. Although I would love to win this hunt for myself, I can think of no one that I would rather give this hunt to then my father. As a husband of 43 years, and a father of nine, he has devoted much of his life to his family. When my father was in good health he taught his three sons the thrill of hunting whitetails in Pennsylvania. Sometime ago my father was dignosed with dibilatating disease called diabeties which has robbed him of his staminia and strength, And I thought that with your help we could give him one last hunt of a lifetime while he can still get around (with a help of a cane), draw his bow and climb a treestand. My father had give his better (healthier) years to his sons , teaching them they ways of the wild and now that he has little stamina he is not able to get around the woods with his sons as he would like to. So to show our appreciation we would like to give something back to him that we could never afford a hunt of a lifetime. Please consider carefully and thank you Brandon

Dear Mr.Nelson,<br

I have heard that he loved to fish at the old subdivision pond and hunt squirrels in the nearby woods. Also, I have heard that he was hired on at a place called Anderson Archery in Grand Ledge, Michigan were he became their "BEST SALESPERSON" His love for the outdoors is well understood. I myself loved that place called "River Park Farms". It also let me be the person that I am today. The love for the outdoors and the love for hunting is to some people only a dream but to me that special place on East Melody Lane brought out the best of two little kids.
