There is no truth in any way shape or form to Mr. Dowling’s post. John L. Cushman is a tireless fighter for second amendment rights for the last forty years.

He has been on the NYS Conservation Council, was a founder of Suffolk Alliance of Sportsman Inc., is a founder of Sportsman’s Association for Firearms Education (SAFE http://www.nysafe.org ), and has been on the Board of the NRA for sixteen? years, as well as the Board of the Whittington Center. His son, John D. Cushman, was just commissioned a full Colonel in the US Army, and is being assigned to the War College, a transfer from his post as a Lt. Col as the Garrison Commander of Camp Parks, see link

I have met him, as well as .John’s daughter. John L. Cushman has a degree in Labor Relations (not sure of the exact words) from Cornell University which he received in ’78 or ’79. John is the current president of SAFE, and with their board of Directors, does a pretty good job of keeping the area politicians on their toes (as much as can be) and working to keep what rights we have and work toward getting back what we have lost. John may be a bit headstrong sometimes, but you can be sure he is working to do the best he can to protect our Second Amendment rights.

My biggest question is what is the motive behind this attempt to smear someone who is working as hard as he can to help our cause? What possible gain is there? Everything I’ve said here is easily proven, nothing the previous poster has said is able to be proven, except that John is in the video on youtube and possibly that this posters name is Mike Downling.

I like that “bloodthirsty members of the NRA cult” as if the defender of America’s rights, a wildlife, wetlands and forest conservator, a trainer of children in the “woodlore” and safety of guns, a promoter of outdoor sports and competitions and a patriotic and politically active organization for more than 100 years is a “cult”…laughter .
