As a scout we camped monthly year round...even when the temperature dipped below zero.I can remember spending hours digging out a camp site in order to pitch a tent. It was hard work, but after it was all set up there was amazing quiet and an absolutely gorgeous view as the moon lit up the snow and made it sparkle. We camp in a trailer now, so we don't get out in the snow, but I agree with you...winter camping in a tent is not difficult and the reward can be fantastic!

I grew up camping in the Colorado mountains – both summer and winter.
