Southport, CT –-(AmmoLand.com)- Ruger recently announce the Ruger SR9c compact pistol, the first extension in the SR9 striker-fired pistol family.

The SR9c compact pistol utilizes the same adjustable, high-visibility 3-Dot sight system as its full-sized predecessor, setting it apart from many compact pistols that rely on fixed sights. New serrations are located on the front portion of the slide, making it easier to both manipulate the slide and to press check the chamber.

The SR9c is available with a glass-filled nylon frame and through-hardened slide in either a brushed stainless or blackened finish. State compliant variations are available where necessary and ship with two 10-round magazines.

  5. I know a lot of people like the new Ruger SR9c and I love the gun, the looks the safety but two things bother me that I wish Ruger would keep working on. There are a lot of things that snag your clothing all over the pistol and I have a small hand with a matching short thumb. The pistol feels great in my hand but in griping it tight enough for shots that may count a lot, I am affraid that I will not be able to trust having a tight enough grip on the handle since my thumb ends right before the taper of the handle curving in toward the pistol. I can deal with the protrusions around the side edges with a good holster but I am stuck with my thumb. Any chance Ruger sees this, please taper the handle earlier near the point or end of the thumb placement. I am sure either with a handle accessory or more of a taper design, it will make all us males with female thumbs happy.

  7. Just purchased the SR9c two tone model (I can see the fornt sight better than the solid black model for some reason) for $429.95
    in NC.
It goes to the range this weekend. After two hundred rounds or so, it will be my carry pistol.
