Winchester Ammunition Honored With 2009 Excellence Award From The Paperboard Packaging Council
Morgan, UT –-(AmmoLand.com)- Winchester® Ammunition’s Theodore Roosevelt commemorative ammunition packaging recently received the 2009 Excellence Award from the Paperboard Packaging Council.
Winchester Ammunition chose this packaging and ammunition line to celebrate 150 years of Roosevelt’s influence and achievement as arguably the greatest conservation hero North America has ever produced.
He was a champion of hunting and wildlife conservation, and used Winchester products on many of his hunting adventures.
The Theodore Roosevelt line features a nickel-plated shell casing bearing a special Roosevelt head-stamp in three popular calibers: .30-30 Win., .45 Colt and Roosevelt’s favorite big bore lever-gun round, the .405 Winchester.
“We are extremely pleased to accept this award that recognizes the creative design for our packaging, which makes Winchester a proven leader, both inside and outside the box,” said Dick Hammett, president of Winchester Ammunition. “Our team did a great job in creating a package that represents our brand and Theodore Roosevelt, a leader in conservation.”
The National Paperboard Packaging Competition recognizes the best of the best in product packaging. Judges evaluated the package samples and the information that was submitted to select the award winners.
The entries had to include the following information:
- An explanation of the package’s development objectives, materials selection and design, printing and converting process.
- Measurements of the package’s impact on production, manufacturing and distribution, including logistics, warehousing, line efficiency, brand enhancement and marketing.
- An evaluation of the package’s impact on retailers and consumers, including merchandising and retail strategy effectiveness, performance, product protection, sustainability and shelf differentiation.
