Sportsman Channel’s Venison & Fish Tacos Feed 1,000 of LA’s Needy
Hunt.Fish.Feed. Program Stops in Los Angeles During Cable Show 2010 Third Year of Partnering with Cable Show’s CableCares.
New York, NY –-(AmmoLand.com)- Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM initiative is coming to Los Angeles’ Union Rescue Mission to help feed local residents in need on Monday, May 10 at 4:30 pm PT.
Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM is a unique outreach program that taps an underutilized food source—game meat and fish donated by sportsmen—to feed those struggling with hunger across America. Sportsman is partnering locally with CableCares, part of the Cable Show 2010, to help organize and transport volunteers. Numerous Cable Show attendees, along with local and state elected officials, are attending to help with the volunteer efforts.
The event will utilize venison and fresh fish to make tasty and nutritious tacos. The fare is donated by local sportsmen from the region in cooperation with Sportsman Channel and DIYBowhunter.com. For more information on Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM, including an informational video, visit www.huntfishfeed.org.
“We’re thrilled to bring our Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM initiative, a program that in its first year provided thousands of the nation’s hungry with nutrient-rich meals, to the Los Angeles community, especially during an economic time that finds more and more people in need every day,” said Todd Hansen, Chief Marketing Officer of Sportsman Channel. “We look forward to working with our partners at CableCares to make this a successful and impactful event that will hopefully make a difference for Los Angeles area residents.”
“We are very excited to join forces with Sportsman Channel, CableCares and the LA Union Rescue Mission to give back to the community,” said Albert Quackenbush, Team DIYbowhunter.com Pro Staff Member. “We are honored to be a part of the Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative and are proud to share our bounty to help those who need a good, healthy meal.”
Sportsman Channel embarked on a multi-city Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM tour in January, which will travel to 10 U.S. cities, one per month, to feed the needy and bring awareness to the fight against hunger.
