Berryville, AR – -(AmmoLand.com)- I hope this finds you all healthy and happy. We are finally starting to see the exceptional weather we expect this time of year.

In years past this time was spent on the range, but with the addition of kids, I spend more and more time with them on their activities.

While I have never had any interest in Baseball, with my son starting to play I have been attending some games. After last Saturday’s practice he asked about doing some shooting, so I know he is certainly my son. I will, like I am guessing most of you, try to find time to fit it all in and make the most of the summer. It seems range time has become over the years something of a premium. I hope to carve out some quality time to spend on the range this summer and maybe even shoot a match or two.

I have noticed an interesting change in my focus of late. The older my kids get and the more we are trying to fit in the activities that come with them growing up, I am not only reminded how important self-defense is, but how important it is to remain vigilant. With little ones running about, often in large groups, it is difficult to keep a constant eye on them as they go carefree through the world. We as parents know how bad the world can be for them and are tasked with keeping them safe. When I read daily about bad things happening to good people, I am grateful how fortunate I have been. Being relatively new to the parent thing, I know my watch will not end soon, but I am trying to remain vigilant and keep them safe. I am today more interested in carry guns than in target guns. A good daily carry knife peaks my interest faster than a custom collector. I suppose that is why go-bags are fluid, and we make something to fit most all needs.

Wilson Combat Lt Weight Compact Carry Comp 1911
Wilson Combat Lt Weight Compact Carry Comp 1911

This month’s “Gun of the Month” is the Lt. Weight Compact Carry Comp. The one shown in particular has all the features to make it an excellent carry pistol. Starting as a light-weight Carry Comp with a Speed-Chute, carbon fiber Crimson Trace Laser Grips, slide stop shortened, and finished in Black over Silver Armor-Tuff, this is a great looking pistol with all the right features. As with all of our custom firearms, may be ordered just like you want it. The compensator is very effective and makes this compact a pleasure to shoot with even the hotter self-defense ammo. I have been told many times that the Carry Comp is one of the softest shooting compacts that are available today. Give us a call and let us build one for you.

I am counting on you to send us your photos of your favorite Wilson Combat firearm for the Unique Gun Gallery. Please include a short description and any story that you would like us to see related to your favorite. Some of you have sent in some nice pictures, and with luck they will be online very soon. I have enjoyed the opportunity to see what you hold near and dear and you will soon be sharing some of them with the world. I am looking forward to start showing more of the unique pistols that we have built.

If at anytime I can be of service feel free to contact me with any concerns or issues that come up related to all things Wilson Combat, I am at you service. If the opportunity arises go shooting, take a friend, or your kid, it is our duty to get others interested in our past-time and our responsibility to help the shooters of tomorrow get started.

Till next time,
Stay safe, shoot straight, and always watch Six!
