SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(Ammoland.com)- Smith & Wesson Corp., announced that Team Smith & Wesson is currently on pace to surpass last year’s title run, which would set a new company record for most team wins in any competitive shooting season.

Currently, Team Smith & Wesson’s tally stands at 15 state, 15 regional and 7 national titles.

Team Captain Julie Golob took home the company’s most recent major victory after wining her 10th United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) title during the Single Stack National Championships.

“It is quite amazing to see what the members of Team Smith & Wesson have accomplished in such a short period,” said Tom Kelly, Vice President of Marketing for Smith & Wesson.

“We are just now getting into the heart of the season with some of the major events like the NRA Bianchi Cup, International Revolver Championship and Sportsman’s Team Challenge taking place in less than a month. Thanks to Julie’s win at the USPSA Single Stack, Team Smith & Wesson only needs two more national titles to tie last year’s total number for the season. While we all know anything can happen during the course of a match, our team members are certainly showing the confidence and poise of true champions.”

On May 26-29, seven members of Team Smith & Wesson will be competing at the NRA Bianchi Cup in Columbia, Missouri. During the annual match, Team Smith & Wesson member Doug Koenig will try to capture his 12th Bianchi title while Julie Golob will look to defend her High Lady title from the previous year.

One week later at the International Revolver Championships (IRC), renowned shooter Jerry Miculek will try to continue his amazing streak of 17 consecutive victories since competing in the 1993 IRC match. Over the history of both events, Smith & Wesson shooters have excelled, taking home multiple division titles.
