JACKSONVILLE, Florida – -(Ammoland.com)- Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, congratulates Team Safariland member Mike Voigt for winning the MGM Ironman 3 Gun Tournament June 10-12 in Parma, Idaho. This was Voigt’s first attempt at the grueling three-day match, which was made even more challenging by rain storms and high winds.

Competitors shot approximately 1200 rounds to complete the 10 stages of fire. Safariland sponsored shooter Dave Neth won the Tactical Optics class; Barry Dueck won the Heavy Metal class; and Tasha Hanish took Top Lady. Further, Scott Carnahan, Team Safariland manager, finished 13th overall in the heavily contested Tactical Scope division.

Neth also took home the $5,000 check in the 3 Gun Nation Shoot Off, later to be aired on Versus Channel. The next qualifying event for the 3 Gun Nation tour is the Rocky Mountain 3 Gun, August 5-7 in Raton, NM. Safariland is proud to announce they are the sponsor for the Shoot Off event in addition to being a major sponsor of the match.

All of these shooters were using the new ELS (Equipment Locking System), fork and receiver plates, which made it very swift and easy to configure their belt for each course of fire. The ELS components offer a small footprint and a stable platform to allow several to be placed at several angles and locations on the 032 ELS Competition belt. Pouches attach to the fork and they slide easily into the receiver plates mounted to the belt.

“With stages running up to 100 rounds each, you can imagine the logistical challenges of carrying the necessary ammo, Stated Scott Carnahan, Vice President, Category Marketing for Safariland. “With the ELS, shooter’s have one less thing to worry about as they rapidly configure their gear for each stage.”

In addition to competing for the title, the Ironman 3 Gun Match provides a great training ground for military and law enforcement personnel as seen by the high number in attendance. In addition, this event is a perfect venue for testing out the latest state of the art gear.

Mike Voigt is the 10 time USPSA Multi-Gun Champion and USPSA President. Scott Carnahan is a three-time USPSA National Class Champion.
