Ronkonkoma, NY –-(Ammoland.com)- Long Island Firearms, in conjunction with Long Island Freedom Fund and Club LIF, have announced that they have given the Bellevue Washington based Second Amendment Foundation $2000.00 to assist their recent lawsuit against Westchester County, NY.

The lawsuit challenges New York State Law which allows residents to be denied a carry license for failing to show “good cause.”

“This is a major step for our community”, said Steve, the administrator of LongIslandFirearms.com;

“We began in March of 2009 as a confederation of firearms enthusiasts looking to share information about our interests in the shooting sports, hunting, and Second Amendment issues. In less than a year and a half, we have grown to over 1900 members, and have embarked on numerous campaigns to assist our community, including Neighborhood Cleanups and Blood Drives.”

He added that he has seen a sharp increase in membership numbers since the Supreme Court’s decision in the case of McDonald vs Chicago in June.

“That landmark decision has breathed new life in our community, has attracted hundreds more, and we are proud to offer them a forum for their ideas, experiences and aspirations.” In addition, he said, “New members are pouring in; they bring a new voice and a real boost to our work to ensure Second Amendment Rights to all New Yorkers. We are fully committed to reaching those goals, as well as serving our neighborhoods.”

Bravo.

Exactly on the mark.

Local, grass roots organizations putting their money where their mouth is.

If a small group less than a year old can put this together, we can all do better.
