Traver ATF Confirmation Vote is an Anti-Gun Vote

North Carolina –-(Ammoland.com)- Recently we warned you about the possibility of a recess appointment for Brady Campaign favorite, Andrew Traver to the post of Director of the BATFE.

Tonight we want to address his nomination period.

Let your Senators make no mistake about it: a vote to confirm Andrew Traver is an anti-gun vote.

TRACK RECORD
As special agent in charge of Chicago’s BATFE field division, Traver has a history of accommodating gun grabbers. He served as an advisor to the International Association for Chiefs of Police on that group’s 2007 “Gun Violence Reduction Project,” in cooperation with the anti-gun-rights Joyce Foundation.

This project involved several high profile anti-gun-rights advocates, but no one from the firearms community.

Traver is clearly not the man the head the most powerful firearms policing agency. His anti-gun bias illustrates a clear conflict of interest on his part and his nomination proves that Barack Obama is openly hostile to your gun rights, despite his contrary words.

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

Dear Senator:

President Obama’s recent nomination of anti-gunner Andrew Traver to the post of Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives constitutes a conflict of interest. Anyone as clearly hostile to the Second Amendment as Traver has no business being allowed to head the most powerful firearms policing agency. That would be tantamount to giving a fox full charge over the proverbial henhouse.

Make no mistake about it, any vote confirming or facilitating the confirmation of Andrew Traver will be considered a vote against the Second Amendment. I will be following your actions on this through Grass Roots North Carolina.

Sincerely,

A Concerned North Carolina Voter

Wow what a well researched article…..you really convinced me Traver would be bad for ATF! That Track record section that included one membership with a police group that most LE executives belong too was real convincing!

We need to abolish recess appointments. I have never seen a time it was used for what it was originally intended for. Crises or no crises. Just make the Senate do it's job. If there is a crises, then no recess. Take care of business thats their job.

This kind of action is why there is a second ammendment. period.
