ROCHESTER, NH --(Ammoland.com)- Thompson/Center Arms Company, Inc., a Smith & Wesson company, announced that the T/C Venture has received the National Rifle Association (NRA) Golden Bullseye Award for “Rifle of the Year” from American Hunter magazine.

Presented annually, the NRA Golden Bullseye Awards were developed to acknowledge the finest products available in the shooting sports industry. At the conclusion of each year, NRA editors and staff select those products they feel are most worthy to receive the distinguished award from the hundreds of products reviewed in the magazine’s past issues. Now in their ninth year, the NRA Golden Bullseye Awards have come to symbolize the most innovative and reliable products currently available for today’s consumers.

While reviewing the T/C Venture, American Hunter staff members characterized the bolt-action rifle by saying:

After the introduction of its Icon rifle in 2007, Thompson/Center Arms realized that to capture the attention of a larger market segment, a mid-price-point bolt-action rifle was needed. As such, the company took lessons learned from the Icon manufacturing project and many of the rifle’s key features and applied them to the lower-cost Venture, which was unveiled in 2009. The result is a rifle that is among the best deals available, as it compromises a few traits of its predecessor, yet boasts a more attractive price.

Guaranteed Minute of Angle (MOA) accurate, the T/C Venture bolt-action rifle is chambered in over 15 different calibers, each sporting a match-grade precision barrel, match grade crown and 5R rifling. Additional standard features include: an adjustable trigger, fat bolt design with 60-degree lift, classic styled composite stock with inlayed traction grip panels, a drilled and tapped receiver (with bases included) for easy installation of optics and QD sling swivel studs. Made in America and backed by Thompson/Center’s lifetime warranty, the T/C Venture offers consumers an affordable, value-packed hunting rifle.

“On behalf of everyone at Thompson/Center, I would like to extend our gratitude to American Hunter magazine for this honorable award,” said James Debney, President of the Firearms Division for Smith & Wesson.

“To earn this recognition from such a widely read publication is a tremendous validation of the hard work and innovative mindset our employees have maintained when developing new products. Since its introduction, the T/C Venture line has been the recipient of multiple awards and has earned a solid reputation of performance in the field. We would like to thank the editorial staff at American Hunter for their acknowledgement as well as the thousands of consumers who have selected the T/C Venture rifle as their hunting firearm of choice.”
