Right to Carry in Illinois Looks More Promising Than Ever
Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- This week members of the brand new 97th General Assembly will convene in the State Capitol in Springfield.
New legislators will be bringing with them added support for a Right to Carry law and plan to join the ranks of veteran legislators who have long supported Illinois joining the rest of the nation in becoming a “Carry State”.
Also in our favor – the U.S. Supreme Court rulings in Heller vs DC and McDonald vs Chicago, support from the Illinois Sheriff’s Association, 48 states which have Right to Carry concealed laws, Wisconsin which has the Right to Carry openly and soon to have a concealed carry law – leaving Illinois as the last and only state to completely deny the right to carry.
All these factors added to the increase in support by new legislators is very encouraging. IllinoisCarry expects to see major movement in a Right to Carry law this session.

DrTodd: What sites do you surf that pertain only to the state you live in? If you get to looking around you'll find this is really a pretty big interweb.
I see the proposed legislation has no recognition of other state's concealed-carry permits. Why is this posted on a website with national readership if doesn't pertain to anyone but a resident of Illinois?
Any pro-gun legislation coming out of Illinois is promising.
What’s sad is the apparent support for the FOID card in Illinois by the gun lobby.
Last year the gun lobby looked the other way and allowed HB5832 to be past into law, a bill that mandates a 1-3 yr prison sentence for those caught with a loaded gun in their possession without a valid FOID card.
The question is if Illinois does get CC will the gun lobby bargain away some other liberty to get it.
