    1. Jessica,
Regarding the Remington recall and custom rifle builders. Is a message being sent to these custom rifle builders to send the Remington 700 receiver group/trigger back to Remington for inspection. OR do they have the option to check it themselves? Will they be held responsible for selling these custom rifles that that have Remington 700 platforms?
Thank you and please get the message to these custom builders!!!

I just bought a Remington 700 compact for my wife seven days before the recall notice. I have made arrangements with a gunsmith to mount a scope on the rifle. Would Remington send a trigger assembly to the gunsmith and let him swap the defective trigger out? It would be a lot less hassle for me because the gunsmith resides 280 miles from my home and I have to deliver the rifle to him to get the scope mounted. My wife plans to use the rifle for an African hunt in a few weeks. That doesn’t leave much time to send the rifle to Remington. Thank you and please let me know Remington’s thoughts.

I received a recall notice two days ago,for my M700. After contact with repair shop, they informed that Remington has not sent a single trigger assembly to them as of yet. Over two months and nothing. I am #142 on there list, not a good way to deal with this SAFETY problem.
