Larry Potterfield addressed businesses and organizations at this conference as the Keynote Speaker on Wednesday, June 1 in a speech entitled, “Leadership & Management Principles through the Baldrige Journey”.

In 2006, Potterfield challenged his organization with a goal to apply for and receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2009. In 2009, MidwayUSA achieved this goal with their first application for the award. Potterfield also founded the Baldrige Performance Excellence Group in Columbia, Missouri to further deploy the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence to local organizations.
The Florida Sterling Conference offers the opportunity to learn how successful private companies and public organizations deal with challenges and thrive in the face of adversity. Attendees experience outstanding examples of innovation and creativity that they can use to make a difference in their organizations. Established in 1992, the Florida Sterling Council is a public/private not-for-profit corporation supported by the Executive Office of the Governor. It is comprised of public and private sector members and led by the Executive Committee, which oversees the Governor’s Sterling Award for Performance Excellence and all Sterling process activities, including the annual Sterling conference.
