Urge ‘Yes’ Vote on Hatch Firearms Related Amendment No. 770 to Commerce, Justice and State Appropriations Bill
NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- Urge ‘Yes’ Vote on Hatch Amendment No. 770 to Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations Bill Now Being Debated on the Senate Floor.
BACKGROUND
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) is seeking to offer an amendment to the Commerce, Justice and Science appropriations bill now being debated on the Senate floor.
Hatch’s amendment would permanently enshrine 10 different appropriations “riders” — essentially directions from Congress to the administration about how they must spend, or not spend, funds — into permanent law. Traditionally, each “rider” had to be reauthorized on a year-by-year basis. Some of these riders go back 30 years.
At this point, the bill’s manager , anti-gun Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), is objecting to Sen. Hatch’s amendment and it might not come up for a vote.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is encouraging all sportsmen, gun owners and firearms enthusiasts to contact both of their U.S. senators today and urge them to vote YES on Hatch Amendment No. 770 to the Commerce, Justice and Science appropriations bill now being debated on the Senate floor.
Please tell your senators:
- Sen. Hatch is seeking to offer amendment No. 770 to the Commerce, Justice and Science appropriations bill.
- I urge Senator (name) to cosponsor this amendment and help Sen. Hatch bring it before the Senate for a vote.
- I urge you to vote for this amendment. It promotes and protects the firearms industry and our Second Amendment rights.
This will only take a minute of your time.
