Leupold Tactical Optics Sponsors Largest 3-Gun Nation Payout in History

BEAVERTON, OR -(Ammoland.com)- Leupold® Tactical Optics has made sure the 2012 3-Gun Nation Championship finale features one of the largest payoffs in practical shooting. The Oregon-based optics manufacturer has put up a $25,000 first-place prize. A matching offer from TV host NBC Sports brings the winner’s check to an unprecedented $50,000.
The Championship finale will be held at night, under the lights, in front of an invitation-only SHOT Show crowd in Las Vegas this January. The match began in November, with a field of 64 competitors. The top eight were selected to compete in the Championship match, which will take place Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Clark County Range.
“Supporting the 3-Gun community is an important part of our business,” said Kevin Trepa, Vice President of Leupold’s Tactical Optic division. “Much of what we learn from these elite competitors translates directly into the feature sets in our premium tactical scopes.”
The eight finalists will compete in a man-on-man shoot-off using rifles, shotguns and handguns. Leupold Tactical Optics will provide all the optics used in the shoot-offs. The first competitor to knock down all the steel targets, including the final stop plate, wins the match.
The 2012 champion will receive his $25,000 prize check from Leupold at the Tactical Optics booth (#11962) on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. Invitations to the final shoot-off will be available at the Leupold Tactical Optics booth during the SHOT Show.
The 3-Gun Nation Championship is the culminating event of a 10-event series of matches comprising almost 2,000 competitors from across the country. The 3-Gun Nation Tour is the only point series and qualification standard-setting body in the sport of 3-gun and is sanctioned by the National Rifle Association.
3-Gun Nation can be seen on the new home of Versus, NBC Sports. Please check local listings for more information.
