I thought it was a very bad idea 40 yrs. ago, when I was leaving the military and still think it today. Women and men do not belong together on duty, in the military, period. It is too easy for a guy to cop a feel just about anywhere and no one is going to see him. This will just escalate and finally turn into rape. The women are too easy as targets. They are smaller and weaker. They can scream, ” I am woman, watch me roar…” all they want, it does not change the facts. If the guy is not a bad guy, by nature, it does not take him long to get that way. He becomes pissed in boot camp when he sees his female “counterpart” not pulling her weight. Not doing the same amount of exercise and, or anything else. She is claiming to be equal but can’t do what he can. She’s a crybaby and whiner.In AIT it get worse and overseas, it is really a joke. If they are in a physical MOS the men find themselves constantly doing their job and half of the female’s. This can get him and other killed. He doesn’t want her there because she has never earned the right to be there. With men there is only one set of rules. You carry your load or you wash out. With women beside you, they don’t carry their load and don’t wash out. The guys get the mentality that the female owes them for doing half of her job. Like it or not, they are right. Forty years after leaving the army I can, and often do, run 10 miles at a time, and loads of push-ups, sit ups, and everything else I did in the army. I have not found a woman yet, who could hang with me. I know I am an exception to the rule, at my age, but that is irrelevant. Yes, you have the exceptional women, who are good runners, etc., but I have never seen any who are all around good. Not even close. The woman crossing the log in the picture is scared to death. I use to cross logs like that, when I was a 10 year old kid, over 15 ft. ditches barefooted and never fell in or hesitated. I could have done it blindfolded and still can. Women need to go back to the WACs and have their own thing. It was better for their and the men’s morale. They can be king of the hill with women. They can’t with men. Nothing personal, just the way we are made. We can meet after work and get along just fine. I never even liked to salute a female officer if I had ever met one. She couldn’t do what I could and I didn’t give a damn what her rank said. That is putting a minor league player with a major league player. Carry a knife? Her and what army is going to stop a trooper from taking that knife. We are talking about soldiers, not civilians. It may work that way in the pansy Air Force, but not in the Army or Marines. These are real men and not someone masquerading as one.

Some states still have the pistol permit system. This is a old Jim Crow law that
should be gone.
