L.L.Bean Announces 100th Anniversary Products

I have read all the comments to date and am somewhat puzzled. To put my biases up front, I distribute and sell this product. Before we start slamming it one way or the other, it is important to know what the SB is and, more importantly, what it isn’t.

The SB is not designed for open or concealed carry. I agree with comments stressing that seconds, or even fractions thereof count. I don’t carry with it nor should any law enforcement, security or civilian person. Period, end of discussion.

The SB is a safety device to prevent the accidental discharge of an unattended pistol. Trust me, when discharged, the SB turns the pistol/revolver into a paper weight. It is designed to do exactly that and no more.

I do not have children in my home but when the grand kids come, the firearm is in a locked room to which only I and my wife have the key with SB’s in the pistol or revolver. Only I and my wife know SB’s are in the guns. If your children know it’s there, you are a bad parent.

The SB complies with most states CAP regulations (Child Access Prevention). You can put your pistol/revolver in action faster than with any other locking device that I know of. The primary safety device on any pistol, Glock or otherwise, is the trigger finger of the shooter. Is that trigger finger yours, your child’s or some stranger’s.

My observation while attending past and present gun shows and frequenting ranges is the shortage is caused 50% by paranoia and 50% by greed, there were people who don’t even own guns who purchased ammo to resell and make a profit. Guys are selling and people are buying $80.00, 500 box of Winchester 22 rounds. that were $20.00. And they can sell as much as they have.More than anything the shortage is consumer driven, not a government plan.

The politicians have already messed up our medical system. I was injured in a crane accident at work and received a complete tear in my right rotator cuff and 3 damaged disks in my neck. Limited to worker’s comp by law..even though I paid 600 dollars a month for insurance..every treatment has been struggle to get even after MRI’s confirmed the damage. If the insurance company says no..and they very often do..the patient can go for months or even years without treatment until the matter is settled by arbitration or court. I am 60 years old and this is my first ever injury claim. What a joke upon the American worker..
