S-680 says the state can only purchase firearms from “responsible” dealers

S-965 holds gun dealers responsible for criminal misuse

I live in upstate NY. A friend of mine, who happens to be a town justice, says an order of protection can be issued without any evidence being presented of an assault, threat, or intimidation. All one has to do is ask for it. Senator Peralta's bill would then take away a citizen's rights (to own a gun) based on this "accusation". Are these people (politicians) just stupid, or criminal?
If manufacturers are to held responsible for misuse, already protected by federal law, then every one should be held accountable for misuse of anything. This goes for lawmakers "manufacturing" laws that are violated/misused. That is already a very long list. Thanks NYSRPA.
Peralta should be removed from office for un American activety. Let him move to China, He would be more at home there!!.
Where to start, the eight bills sighted in the article are on the face irresponcible and unconstitutional. The Senator would it seems to be declaring war on his constituants. Or is this just more fodder for the leagal system to make money?
There should be a law against writing stupid laws.
IF GUN MFG.ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GUN MISSUSE THEN AUTO MFG.ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DRUNK DRIVERS.
Peralta seems to suffer from acute hoplophobia. Rather than write stupid (unconstitutional) bills to ally his fears, he should seek professional help.
This is one of the reasons I left the state of NY back in 1996. It is anti-everything but your money.
