Congressmen Urge The UN To Trample The US Constitution

FAIRFAX, Va. --(Ammoland.com)- This week begins the most important 26-day period for our Second Amendment freedoms in recent history.

That’s because today, representatives from many of the world’s socialist, tyrannical and dictatorial regimes will gather at United Nations headquarters in New York for a month-long meeting, in which they’ll put the finishing touches on an international Arms Trade Treaty that could seriously restrict your freedom to own, purchase and carry a firearm.

Specifically, the U.N. wants to implement international gun registration requirements, bans on commonly owned firearms, tracking and registration of ammunition purchases, and create a new U.N. gun control bureaucracy.

You might think that something so obviously menacing to one of our enumerated fundamental rights would receive a strong rebuke from our top government leaders.

But you’d be wrong. This is President Barack Obama’s vision for America, and we’re expected to just go along with it.

Rep. Raul Grijalva and Barack Obama

Rep. Raul Grijalva and Barack Obama

In fact, a group of anti-gun members of the U.S. House of Representatives, led by U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), went so far as to circulate a letter last week to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, in which they “strongly urge the United States to take a leadership role in pushing for a strong, verifiable Arms Trade Treaty.”

These House members insist that the treaty include “controls on a comprehensive list of weaponry, including small arms and light weapons,” as well as controls on ammunition. For good measure, they wrap their unconstitutional demands in the mantle of advancing “human rights” and preventing international violence.

Since when did it become fashionable for sitting members of Congress to lobby international thugs, tyrants and dictators against our own U.S. Constitution?

Rep. Grijalva should consider the plight of good people in countries like the Sudan, where it’s virtually impossible for an average citizen to legally own a firearm for self-defense.

He, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should open their eyes to the unspeakable human rights atrocities that exist in their gun-ban utopia. They ought to see how far their gun-confiscation agenda resonates with hundreds of thousands of defenseless Sudanese men, women and children who live in constant fear of being beaten, raped, sold into slavery or murdered.

It’s easy for Congressmen Raul Grijalva, James McGovern, Bobby Rush, Dennis Kucinich and every other signer of this woefully ignorant letter to sit on high — surrounded by the secure walls of freedom built by our strong Second Amendment rights — and dictate to oppressed citizens in other parts of the world that their lives would be better if they only had less freedom than we do in the United States.

Thankfully, these clueless representatives don’t speak for the majority of us. The NRA has been warning Americans about this ticking time bomb at the U.N. for over 15 years. Now it’s zero hour. Wayne LaPierre and I will be at U.N. headquarters in New York this week, fighting tooth and nail to protect the same constitution that Raul Grijalva and his pals swore an oath to uphold and defend.

And I can promise you, we won’t stop fighting until our Second Amendment freedoms are safe from this international disgrace.

We need to know the names of all those unpatriotic congressmen who signed this letter. Their intent is to destroy this nation.

It sucks, but we have our selves to blame. So long as the people keep electing these individuals in to office and refuse to hold them to their oaths to support and defend the Constitution (oath of office) nothing will change. These people should be immediately recalled the second they go against the Constitution.

People are going to crap their pants when they wake up one morning and discover what it is they truly gave up. You will never miss something until the day comes and you wake up to discover that it is no longer there. You treat your Rights like Privileges then that is what you will have. Rights require due process to lose. Privileges only require a swipe of a pen from a dictator.

This is one time Congress better listen to the people, or be responsable for starting the next civil war. We will not sit back and let this happen, we will fight. We will not give up our guns. Our fighting men for the most part will not go along with this either, I hate to see this country at war with itself, but that is what will happen if you let this happen!

If Obama wants a civil war so he can declare marshal law, he is doing a damned good job of it. He can’t trust the military to follow his orders so he has created an army of street thugs and illegals to do his bidding. Mr. O bama, be careful of what you ask for, you might get it.

Why ? for the life of me does Rep.Raul Grijalva hug the President after hundreds of “his people” were murdered by this administrations “fast and furious” illegal gun running scheme ? If they were ever able to confiscate all of our “legal”guns,Rep.Raul Grijalva’s (and our)life would not be worth a plug nickel. in my opinion, people like Pres. Obama is not interested in making friends, But subjects.

I just read this, and want to pass it on.”The Constitution is law,not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply. If the second ammendment were truly an outdated relic , the Constitution provides a method for repeal.
The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser.”

Ed, and all… WE won’t be going to wat with ourselves, just a very few Federal law enforcement, local LE, and liberal politicians. We out number them 100 to 1 or more. They know it.The realistic scenario, they start it , we finish it, they are gone from our country and our government. How about a 30 million gun owner march on Washington. That ought to do it.

Regarding this threating situation from the UN, please consider the following. Thomas Jefferson had noted the following constitutional limitation on the powers of the Senate and the Oval Office to negotiate treaties. Jefferson had essentially indicated that the Senate and Oval Office cannot use its treaty powers to force US citizens to comply with foreign laws base on powers that the states have not expressly delegated to Congress via the Constitution.

“In giving to the President and Senate a power to make treaties, the Constitution meant only to authorize them to carry into effect, by way of treaty, any powers they might constitutionally exercise.” –Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1793.

“Surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way.” –Thomas Jefferson: Parliamentary Manual, 1812.

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court wrongly ignored Jefferson’s expert insight when it decided Missour v. Holland, 1920.

More specifically, Congress had made a law protecting migrating birds in early 20th century. But when some states sued Congress over the law, the USSC sided with the states, citing the states’ 10th Amendment protections.

However, Congress was evidently determined to protect birds, state sovereignty be damned. So what Congress did was to use the Senate’s power to negotiate treaties as a back door to make a treaty with Canada to jointly protect migrating birds. And as I have alread mentioned, Congress evidently caught the USSC off guard, the USSC siding with Congress in Missouri v. Holland despite Jefferson’s expert insight into the matter. (No mention of Jefferson in Missouri.)

So Congress is still using treaties as an unconstitutional back door with respect to UN and guns.

Finally, as a side note to Missouri v. Holland, note that this case seems to be where the PC idea of the “living” Constitution got started. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_v._Holland

SURELY, THE EVENTS OF THE LAST WEEK, IF NOT THE LAST 50 YEARS, WOULD CONVINCE ANYONE BUT A TRAITOR, THAT WE CANNOT DEPEND ON OUR CONGRESS, PRESIDENT, OR SUPREME COURT, TO SUPPORT, DEFEND AND ENFORCE THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION ! I read this week that of the 535 members of congress, only 130 expressed any concern about this treaty at all ! The rest were either for it, or had no interest in it at all. The Oath of Office means nothing to them anymore, and this clown from Arizona, is in business for himself, no doubt he has a private arrangement with the cartels and obama, to sell us out and help take America down. He is not even concerned with all the Mexican Citizens who have been killed because they are not allowed to own guns to protect themselves ! So, he wants to make us victims too ! Send him to GITMO for Life !

Let’s not forget our Fore Fathers when they came to America from England. If they did not have their guns to protect their freedom we all would be under English Rule. They are the ones that made this a free country and we want it that way.
There is no way I will ever give up my right to own and have a gun.

    16. I agree that if they want to slamdunk this gun control BS, there will definitely be resistance. Militia groups will grow rapidly – like http://www.indianamilitia.org and http://www.michiganmilitia.com

In fact, I can testify to the fact that militias have been organizing and growing for years now, and American gun owners have bought billions and billions of rounds of ammunition lately! Normally manufacturers would sell a million guns annually, but they sold at least 4 million guns in just the first quarter of this year, and they are simply unable to maintain the pace! Do you suppose that all these guns are being bought up just so they can turn them in? No! A nation of gun-owners do not stock up for war for nothing; if T.P.T.B. want to take their guns, they’re gonna get a real fight!

Nobody wants to see war on American soil. But we have become morally weak… and allowed international organizations like the UN & Bilderbergers to subvert our government, our media, academia, and other institutions. http://www.indianamilitia.org/files/Publications/Exec_Orders_and_police_state_legislation.pdf They have undermined our Republic to the brink of the Constitution being openly repudiated.

Most of all, these traitors have been preparing for a long time to deploy military force against the American people. http://www.indianamilitia.org/files/Publications/Pentagon_to_Detail_Troops_for_Domestic_Deployment.pdf Martial law, detention facilities, pre-positioned weapons, even quiet arrangements between NORTHCOM and foreign armies to wage war against us when civil resistance breaks out. http://www.indianamilitia.org/files/Publications/Canadian-US_martial_law_plan_CAP.pdf Their preparation has been going on for an even longer time. Learn more at http://www.infowars.com or http://www.theintelhub.com

Honestly, if they’re preparing to wage war against the American people, then I think we’re all justified in stocking up on ammo and other supplies, and training to repel the jackbooted thugs. After all if they want to come and get it, then why not unload on them with everything we can muster?
