NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)- In suing Attorney General Eric Holder for refusing to produce documents in the Fast and Furious case, U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa continues to show true determination to get to the bottom of what really happened in the gun-walking scandal and to hold those individuals responsible for it accountable; as well as to learn how the U.S. Department of Justice came to send a demonstrably false letter to Congress that it later had to withdraw.

The Justice Department and Obama administration is steadfastly refusing to release documents that the committee believes would provide a complete timeline of events that led to the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

The action in civil court taken by Chairman Issa follows the June 28th House vote that held the attorney general in contempt of Congress for failing to cooperate with the committee’s investigation. This is the first time in history that an attorney general has been held in contempt.

Supporters of Mr. Holder and the White House have called the investigation a “political witch-hunt”. Others believe that the evidence that has been uncovered by the investigation thus far indicates an attempt to hide the failure of the program and thereby mislead the public.

As Shakespeare wrote in the Merchant of Venice, “Truth will come to light; murder cannot be hid long; a man’s son may, but at the length truth will out.”
