NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- First Shots is the perfect way for a range to share with a local community what it means to be a safe, responsible and educated firearm owner, and it demonstrates how much fun it is to use firearms for sport.

Invite your community to come out for a FREE First Shots event. Thanks to industry, NSSF’s First Shots program provides ranges with targets, ammunition, safety literature and a complete PowerPoint presentation to educate the public on the safe, responsible usage and ownership of firearms in the community.

NSSF provides 50 percent of cooperative advertising funds up to $3,000 to get the word out, and NSSF can also prepare your customized, logo-displayed print ad. All you need to provide is a classroom, a range, a nationally certified instructor and quality range officers.

The three-hour program consists of 90 minutes of classroom discussion of firearms safety, basic firearms instruction and local laws for legal firearms usage and ownership, followed by a 90-minute live-fire, hands-on activity to let participants take that ever-important first shot.

For more information on First Shots, visit www.nssf.org/firstshots and request a brochure or simply sign up to host an event at your range.
