George E. Hyde Joins Counter Assault as General Manager & Director of Marketing

Kalispell, Montana --(Ammoland.com)- Counter Assault, a leading manufacturer of Bear Deterrent, Law Enforcement and Personal Defense pepper spray products, has named George E. Hyde as General Manager and Marketing Director.

Hyde is responsible for the management of Counter Assault and for sales and marketing globally.

Hyde brings extensive sales experience to Counter Assault with more than 25 years of sales in retail, distribution and manufacturing venues. Hyde also brings management experience, including more than fifteen years as a business owner, and as an operations manager in manufacturing.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Utah, Hyde spent several years in the insurance and securities industry. Then deciding to pursue his passion for the outdoors he began a career in the sporting goods industry with Munson Sporting Goods and Outdoor Sports Headquarters, Inc. before joining Maurice Sporting Goods.

At Maurice Sporting Goods Hyde rose from Sales Representative to Senior Account Executive in the Reno, Nevada Western Division, responsible for national, regional and dealer accounts throughout the western United States, before leaving to become Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Barnes Bullets. Hyde then started his own company and has enjoyed pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit in other industries for several years. He now returns to the sporting goods industry as the General Manager and Marketing Director of Counter Assault.

Hyde is married to Julie K. Hyde and is the father of six girls and one granddaughter. His passions are still, and will always be, hunting, shooting, fishing, camping, scuba diving and being in the outdoors. Hyde has worked for many years in the Boy Scouts of America serving local units and as a Council Training Committee Member and Wood Badge Course Staff Member including as a Course Director. Hyde received the Silver Beaver award and other recognitions from the BSA. Additionally Hyde has been an active member Ducks Unlimited and served as a Chapter Committee Member.
