USA –-(Ammoland.com)- New information about U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s promised new gun “control” legislation that seeks to ban “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” ammunition magazines has just been released.

The California Democrat shares a summary of her proposed bill, entitled “Summary of 2013 Feinstein Assault Weapons Legislation,” on her Senate website. And by the looks of things, it seeks more than just bans. From Senator Feinstein’s website:

Summary of 2013 legislation: Following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:

Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:

  • 120 specifically-named firearms
  • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
  • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds

Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:

  • Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
  • Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
  • Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
  • Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.

Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:

  • Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
  • Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
  • Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons

Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:

  • Background check of owner and any transferee;
  • Type and serial number of the firearm;
  • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
  • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
  • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

Note that part about “requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act.”

(Editor’s note: Italics added for emphasis)

The discussion of the bill summary can be found on her website here. A a .pdf of the bill summary is here.

Dave S. Constitutional attorney Stewart Rhodes will explain it for you. …"The whole point of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military capacity of the American people – to preserve the ability of the people, who are the militia, to provide for their own security as individuals, as neighborhoods, towns, counties, and states, during any emergency, man-made or natural; to preserve the military capacity of the American people to resist tyranny and violations of their rights by oath breakers within government; and to preserve the military capacity of the people to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign… Read more »

Its amazing how NRA membership is going up, wish all the freeloaders (gun owners who weren't members)had joined BEFORE the election. The extra cash could have swayed the election, but people don't think it will happen to them. Its ok if its someone elses guns, magazines or rights. Write, call or fax YOUR representative to give your opinion on this issue. Keep the info clean, concise and above all no profane language, that will get your response put in outgoing trash pile.

The gun genie is out of the bottle; has been for centuries. That wacko could have taken my S&W 357 revolver with a box of 50 loose rounds and done the same as he did with what he did. I am a retired master gunsmith. I've seen and handled thousands of firearms. I have yet to see, or even hear, of one jumping off a table all by itself and shooting someone. I'm also part Native American, and the aforementioned wackjob could have taken my tomahahawk and done the same thing. OMG, is an Assault Hawk Ban next? Seriously, the… Read more »

I just wrote both my senators on the assalut weapopns ban. I mentioned aboput the $200 tax she has placed in it for each firearm. I mentioned that I didn't feel it was correct in charging me a price for my freedom when we have the second amendment. This bill is too far reaching into a individuals privacy. Fingerprints, photographs. They already have this on me due to my CWP. I mentioned that if anything just have a exchange program for your high capacity magazine for a five round magazine and nothing more. These rifles in this bill are very… Read more »

I have seen so much violence on television that portray criminals achieving their violent crimes in different ways. Yes it is only fiction, Mr. Lapierre’s statement about video games and music being responsible for the influence of real life crimes of violence. In his defense I must say that he is correct. I have served in the Navy for 14 years and witnessed our destructive nature in other countries, including our own country, I have seen teenagers waiting at game stops for the latest Call of Duty games. The online play with these games allows the player to kill human… Read more »

they can't do this it's unconstitutional.my friend in the army said that he was swarn in to protect the constitution.and the right to bear arms is the second amendment. so that if he wanted to be could do what ever he wanted to do to senator Diane be cause she is threatening the constitution.

Dave SThe true revolution would be if responsible gun owners and the NRA would come up with some reasonable regulations. No. what that would be is caving into stupidity. You left turds are always pointing out your superior intellect so why is it that the left has no idea what the Second Amendment means. Next we already do lived in an armed camp and who cares what supreme court judges interpret its what the founding said. As for a revolution lets also do away with equal rights, freedom of speech, 16 th amendment and entitlements too.

Feinstein, Obama, Biden, Reid, Clinton, Boxer, Bloomberg, Emanuel are all dangerous, left liberal anti-gun zealots, they all are wealthy, powerful and can intimidate, force and make the weaker minded, easily brain washed and swayed to their Dictating, left liberal thinking and making the weak minded, all jump and obey and be happy to do it.. Those left liberals anti-gunners are mesmerizers', smooth talkers, but yet they are conniving, convincing controllers, like, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and all other Dictators in the past, that were able to talk and convenience the citizens in their countries to accept having their guns being banned,… Read more »

Here's some advice for all you who will voluntarily give up your guns: When you go to turn in that M1 Carbine or M1 Garand or M14 you lovingly restored with hard work and lotsa money, cut the damn thing up into 5 or 6 pieces. Use a large cutting saw or cutting torch. Then give it to them in a box. Why? Because the cop that collects your gun in one piece will take it home and put on his wall. Don't think so? Thats what happened in New Orleans after Katrina.

These communist b–c–s and b–t–ds lie in wait and plot and conspire constantly while awaiting these horrifying catastrophes to dehumanize and enslave very man woman and child in the country with the sole exception of themselves and their own . We need to pass laws charging TREASON against anyone and everyone who ever considers introducing any legislation that is even REMOTELY unconstitutional with even more special emphasis on the Bill of Rights granted by GOD and Natures GOD as so stated in said constitution .

Dave S.: Once again you apologists don'tr see the forest for the trees. Revolt against this creeping communist government is not only about an assault weapons ban. Open your eyes. Can't you see the creep toward a socialist/communist style government that the rest of us so clearly see? Can't you see the lies and deceit? Benghazi, Fast and Furious, taxes, bigger government, reducing the military to nothing, appeasement to radical muslims, "I'm going to have more flexibility after the election" to Putin. Don't you get it? Where the hell have you been? What is it about obama that blinds you?… Read more »

"Big D" what an appropriate moniker! People calling for revolution, actual civil revolt against the government over this! Are you people so crazy and paranoid that you would actually "rise up" in reviluton over an assault weapons ban? I guess if you succeed in overthrowing the government we can all live in an armed camp. Hell that seems to be exactly what you people want. The 2nd Amendment DOES NOT and never has been interpereted by the Supreme Court to allow unregulated access to any weapon that you wish, fully automatic weapons as an example. The true revolution would be… Read more »

Screw Feinstein!!!! Guns are not a luxury or a automobile it is a right(.) Hitler made everyone register their guns before he went and collected them and then slaughtered them… If you believe Rwanda or other places don't exist and never could believe it to happen here then I guess our education system is a failure. 20 Children is a tragedy but there is no way that my short term emotional "feelings" over this is enough to get rid of the second amendment. Gun laws are fine where I live and there is no reason to change a damn thing.… Read more »

If the recent bloodletting scares them can you imagine the fright they're going to get when they try to enforce this BS? Wow….how stupid can these people be. Remember reading about how obama wanted his own private army??….I guess the ATF fits the bill. A word of caution to any law enforcement out there wanting to back these commies…you will be considered a traitor.

BIMMERKKID21

good luck with that… this is basically declaring war

Dr. Prostate

Has anyone, news outlet or media, checked to see if the rifles used in the recent shootings were initially put into the system under the "Fast and Furious" debacle? It could be quite the scandel if they were.

Tracker

Scott, if it *looks* scary, it's on their list. But what they really want is to ban all guns. This isn't just a so-called "assault" weapons ban. Read the second sentence. It will ban semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns. They will try to take away our second amendment rights and the press will say that anyone who supports the 2nd amendment wants five year olds to die, so that unthinking chattel will clamor to flush their rights down the proverbial toilet. Watch. I guarantee it.

Scott

Where is the list of 120 specifically-named firearms?

Captain Howdy

Yeah, good luck with that Senator. Myself and millions of my countrymen and women won't comply. It is not the government's business of what or how many firearms I own.

Drudge today is calling it a civil war, in regards to banning guns. Actually, civil war is groups of citizens fighting each other while REVOLUTION is known for citizens fighting tyranny ( http://www.booksbyoliver.com ).

I am sure the mainstream media will not publish the history of tyranny and their first goal is to illegalize the ownership of weapons, but that is the case. It's time to take a stand.
