Oath Keepers
There has been a horrendous mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. At this time, 27 people are reported dead, most of them children.
This shooting is yet another tragic example of the failed, grotesque insistence on helpless victim zones (gun free zones) where any crazed gunman can be assured of a large number of disarmed, undefended, helpless victims, all crammed into one place, where he can kill many children before an armed defender arrives from elsewhere.
It is disturbing and sick that the federal government so hates the right of the American people to bear arms, and so hates their natural right to self defense, that the government insists on making them helpless, disarmed victims for anyone who cares to kill them.
And in this case, all of the teachers and staff were willfully disarmed by the Federal Government, by force of law and threat of prison, to ensure that they would be disarmed and incapable of saving the lives of the children entrusted to their care.
That makes the Federal Government complicit in the deaths of these children, and in fact an accessory to their mass murder, by forcibly disarming (with the very real threat of prison) all the teachers, all the staff, and any parent who may have been on school property. That stupid law guaranteed the shooters would meet no immediate armed resistance, which is exactly what is needed to stop such an attack.
In such a shooting (as in every criminal attack), seconds count, and the people best positioned to stop the attack are the people on the scene – the intended victims and/or their care-takers. In this case, that would mean the teachers and staff of the school, and also the parents, who should have the ability to save the lives of their own children as they take them to and from school.

Wow. Can’t argue with this premise…but ain’t going to happen now. America died today. The repercussions of the events of today are going to sound the death knell of the 2nd Amendment. Obama will now have public support behind him and congress will bow to that pressure in order to get reelected. How many more people will die now as the confiscation begins. We are finished at our own hand. God help us.
I agree with most of it except one thing: allowing parents to conceal carry and come to school, because bad guys can also get CCW, the recent cases in CO and CT, both men would probablt get CCW since they had no criminal record before!
Arming the teacher might be a better idea (on a volunteer basis) and the teacher must be vetted thoroughly and take CCW class. I doubt many teacher would do that, but as long as some teacher would have CCW and bring guns into class, it will serve as an deterrent.
There is no absolute safety unless all guns, all ammo (both legal and illegal) are taken away and destroyed.
Also who is going to mourn other gun violence victims in other part of the country? Detroit, Oakland, Miami, Newark or Chicago? They ought to make tough laws to sentence anyone (who use guns for robbery) to death penalty and encourage gas station owners to shoot/kill gun-toting robbers.
One more suggestion: don’t open carry, because you would give liberals more fuel against guns, also a criminal would naturally target the open-carry person, don’t you think?

How about getting rid of permits entirely and recognizing a person’s right to keep and bear arms?

In other words: Impossible. Because all militarys and police of all countries would have to do the same and destroy theirs as well.

If it is described in detail as a specific law (Ex: “ARMED ROBBERY”), then yes. But when they get you demanding harsher penalties for “Gun crime”, they use it against you when you fail to abide by unconstitutional gun-laws. It’s a trap.

You cannot be more WRONG. The “Open Carry” movement has done more for our Right to Keep and Bear Arms than the NRA, legislative pushes and court actions in the past decade or so. It truck right at the heart of anti’s base: You don’t need a permit, background-check or other government interference. And that’s how it should be for all things firearm-related.
And if you believe that you shouldn’t exercise your rights because you might loose them, then you’ve already lost them. As they say at opencarry.org: “A right unexercised is a right lost.”
I couldn’t agree more. An armed society is a polite society, on the premise that firearms in the hands of law abiding citizens are a deterrent. But you can bet that the Left will now move to completely and totally disarm the American people. Diane Feinstein, that gun grabbing California Senator, had anti-gun legislation ready for Obama’s second term. She stated that, if she had the votes, “Mr. & Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in!” This type of attitude toward firearms is despicable, as is Diane Feinstein herself. She has a concealed carry permit, she also bought her son a rifle for his birthday a couple years back, which was broadcast loud and long by proponents of the 2nd Amendment. Hypocrites, one and all, that’s what liberals are. Bloomberg has a cadre of machine gun toting bodyguards, but I shouldn’t, in his opinion, be allowed to own a .22! If Obozo moves to further disarm the people, he will likely be facing a serious, well organized revolt of unimaginable proportions. We will not be made defenseless against a tyrannical, all powerful, federal government!

You are quite correct, a ‘gun free killing zone’, disarmed, helpless citizens and children to be killed at the leisure of insane murderers until they run out of ammo, have a weapon malfunction or get killed by the cops when they FINALLY show up.
You are also right in that the anti-gun rights crowd will whip up the emotions of the sheeple and ram through some kind of insanity up to confiscating legally owned firearms of every citizen. THAT will stir up some dust.
Open carry is a good thing and it works, just like it did back in the day. Diane Feinstein should set an example and turn in all of her guns and try being passive and see how it works for her. Even if all guns and ammo were destroyed, more could be created and there are other kinds of weapons that people would use on each other.
The news media is pandering to violent criminals and the gun control crowd, they need to quit using the term “Gunman” and quit calling them “Sick”, they should refer to the violent criminals in a way that would not cause other violent criminals to do the same kind of spree killing. The news people could refer to the killers as “Cowardly Wimp, that murdered young children”. That would also be a good way to express editorial disgust in such violent actions. That is why these kinds of trash keep wanting to “one up” each other, and the media fuels the fire. The media refuses to talk about incidents like where a school administrator held a man at gun point, when the man was attempting to do a mass murder at his school. He held him at gun point until the police arrived, and later discovered how many children he was going to kill. That’s an example of how things should be, instead of having a “Free Kill Zone” AKA “Gun Free Zone”, that any violent criminal can violate at will. When will the decent people wake up and get back to real American values. These people, like the POS that killed people in Arizona never seem to get the death penalty, even when there is no doubt and they admit that they did it………. Why keep that kind of trash alive, Ban Them for a change!
