Except the school specializes in teaching & protecting the kids of politicians & dignitaries so it is YOU who is missing the larger point & spreading misleading info to further your gun propaganda.

I feel that arming teachers is a cop out. first it is to assume a teacher is willing and able to accept the responsibility, and pass the training. second, I feel most medium to large towns can re-deploy their law enforcement assets to put one or two officers per school, with a car on site should an emergency arise elsewhere…..for smaller towns,/school districts, funds just might have to be allocated.
Taking all that above it no account, it deeply offends me to the core that any slime bag would begin to gripe about the expense….Oh we will help the addicted, we will fund the foreign refuges of many a nation, we will wage wars to vast expense, but we wont fund our children s safety?…seriously?,,,,we sit back and make snide remarks like whats next guards in the shopping malls, (some already have those)….but with the constant news of either inappropriate actions buy teachers and students alike in our school coupled with the fact that the dregs of society have no focus on school as “easy targets” I think we are past the Utopian stage of denial. We currently have laws in effect that Should have prevented each of the last three major gun violence incidents in the national news…..those laws were NEVER properly implemented, nor enforced, with an excuse…WE don’t have the money. Now someone tell me…how do we come up with funds to enforce a yet non-existent law…when we can not fund what is in place?!?!…this is beyond apathetic….and is little more than a politicians attempt to make everyone feel falsely safe…..the law they are talking about would not be a new law, it’s “Jim brady’s law” re-introduced after it was in effect for over 15 years and didn’t work….yet the american public seems ready to gobble up this utter hogwash, of a recycled failure.
Legislature is not the answer….enforcement and incarceration for ALL offenders is…until that happens…anything else is just spitting into a 35 MPH wind. And that may not be popular, or that you want to hear, but it’s FAIR, it’s FAIR and it’s honest.

And this is being brought to everyone’s attention now? I don’t know about you, but this has been standard policy for every presidential child – they go to private schools that have security – that isn’t new news. You are going to make light of this because of what happened in NH? Maybe you should have brought light of this when Columbine happened, or even the shootings at VT. Before going out and making a big deal about where Obama’s children go to school, do a little research. You will find that Clinton’s daughter went to this school, and more than likely all of the CIA, FBI, and other government employed children also go to this school. @ Liz – it would be great to have our vets doing something, but you have to understand something, until a majority of our vets are properly diagnosed and treated for PTSD, I wouldn’t want them guarding a school. After 2 tours in Afgan, I was finally diagnosed and treated, and the sad thing about it, I will never be able to pass my psych for law enforcement – even though I have been treated and released, the fact that I was diagnosed prevents me from ever being a cop. So I will continue carrying my sidearm wherever I may go. The jr high and high schools in my county have armed officers at each school, and I can’t begin to count the number of schools we have in this county, but it covered 4-5 districts. There is no officers in our elementary schools…yet. If they would allow teachers to carry, maybe we can avoid future instances, but it is federal property and it is posted at each school that it is unlawful to have a firearm on school property. Obama needs to change that! Allow those that LEGALLY carry, do such, I don’t care if it is my kids’ school, I’d feel a hell of a lot better knowing that I have x amount of teachers that know how to shoot, to protect not only my kids, but others as well.

Give all of our Vets an opportunity to continue to serve and protect and let them stand guard outside of ALL schools. They were good enough at the time to fight in many wars let their work continue NOW I am certain that they would love to protect our future !!!!

Well, nice try, but Obama hasn’t said a single word about his position towards armed guards in schools. And for many reasons he’d be unlikely to speak against them.

In fact he’s not said much at all so far other than to ask for “reports” on what MIGHT be able to be done, etc.

Some folks just can’t get past the drivel that the NRA has been feeding them about what a horrible gun-grabber Obama is. In fact the only thing he’s done at all that in any way relates to “gun control” in the US in 4 years has been to ALLOW concealed carry in national parks.

So again, fail.

Try again when he really DOES say something you can use. He probably will come out in favor of some level of gun control eventually.

A thought I’d like to share…
I saw it in a recent headline note, so I’m not taking credit for it..however…

If gun control and new gun bans are what the president wants enacted, let’s start by putting a ‘gun free zone’ around the president, and fire the secret service! Wouldn’t need them then.

That would work, wouldn’t it?

Anyone that tries to take away my HUMAN RIGHT to protect me and my family’s life , will have to do it with more lethalness than I will be doing to protect myself. You will be shot, stabbed, have your head turned-around backwards…whatever I choose. The one thing I will NOT do is sit down and let it happen, and say “thanks for keeping me safer”.

I do NOT advocate violence, and i truly wish It did not have to be this way..but I will cut you into little pieces with an exacto knife if I have to protect me and my family’s lives.
If YOU wouldn’t do that, maybe you should just shoot or kill your family yourself. You would be doing so anyway, so get to it.
Saying “ok, guns are now banned/illegal” will NOT get rid of all the guns. Therefore, I will protect myself and family from it..AT ANY COST.

If you don’t like that, all I can say is stay the hell away from me and my family. You’d be better off. Period!

These guys aren’t the problem – they’re presumably well-trained, qualified, and responsible enough to carry a gun. The problem is that pretty much any goober can walk into a store and have a gun in his hands in short order. So, the NRA has proposed arming guards at schools, and I haven’t heard many object to that – but why don’t they propose an answer for the real problem? President Obama knows this is a very complex issue, but has actually taken a very balanced approach, knowing that everything that even “might” prevent another Newton tragedy must be done – but to know that, you have to listen to him, not “Ammoland.com”

First we must get the obvious out of the way: Obama and his ilk have no intention of living by the rules they impose on everyone else in the name of social justice. Period. Ever.

Having said that, I wonder why we as responsible parents and adults tolerate the imposition by the government of conditions that render the campuses of each and every school veritable killing fields for those they will not safely remove from society because of some misbegotten sense of political correctness. They create the perfect scenario for evil to prevail.
Why do we allow it? Why do we subject the most innocent and helpless among us to this? Why do we not require all mentally sound adults to openly carry a sidearm? In those nations and states and municipalities where gun ownership is mandatory violent crime of all kinds is so far below the statistical average of those localities that do not as to beggar belief.

Criminals admit they choose gun free zones because they know no one will be able to defend themselves. Common sense has taken a long holiday and it is past the time when we demand its return. Why do we tolerate the fraudulent elections of progressive gun grabbers? Are we, the responsible ones, the ones who produce, provide, protect going to meekly allow this to continue?

If we do allow it, then I would submit, that we, sadly, deserve the horrors that are sure to come as a result of our hapless and illogical stewardship.

My opinion on the gun control..I think it is un called for and in humane of the president to try and take the rite to bare arms away, and then to add on top of that, his daughter’s scool is protected by armed guards, what the heck makes him think his Daughter is any better than our kids..had that school in colorado had armed guards,just 3 or 4 of the 11 thats being payed to protect his daughter, then maybe those innocent children would be with there families on this christmas day!!!…”STOP GUN HATE”

It seems to me there is every justification for Assault weapons in the hands of Civilians, it’s called keeping the Government in line.

As far as I am concerned all weapons should be in the hands of the citizenry and only in the hands of the citizenry. The government should have to turn to it’s citizens for authorization of the use of force and in fact for the means of using that force.

That is the only way to insure that very same government does not use that force against it’s own citizenry.
