Mr. Caruba is right but he didn't say that we have 7 million children that are going to be murderers, he related the 'fact' that we are increasing the odds of individuals that aren't served by these SSRI's and have negative reactions to the drugs that have led to many of these tragic shootings. The drugs 'alter' the mind and body and yet the target becomes guns? It makes no sense. Many prescription drugs come with a myriad of 'warnings' including the standard do not operate machinery, etc. due to its influence. Can we not also assume that if it inhibits our metabolism from proper responses in that way it can't give an exponential rise in dangerous behaviors? That is part of the problem. How many of these children or adults for that matter really need drugs or could they be treated nutritionally instead? Our bodies assimilate natural foods far superior to man-made, gmo or processed foods or drugs. Today's diets are highly processed and we have a greater incidence of allergies like never before. I'm not saying some individuals aren't helped by some anti-depressants but it seems we're placing too much 'faith' in them rather than alternatives because we have to be good little people for the state and abide by their wishes because they know better. Therein lies another big problem, personal responsibility or the lack thereof.

The evidence linking SSRI's to mass shootings isn't of Mr Caruba's making & it there for anyone to see.
Fanapt plays no part in this.
I'm not surprised that nothing is done to address this link, as the major pharmaceutical companies have $billions at stake & they make large donations to people who can ensure there is no debate on the matter.
The whole medical-industrial complex has a stake in ensuring these highly profitable drugs continue to be prescribed.

I was disappointed to find Mr. Caruba's commentary among the pro-gun and pro-liberty articles on this site. Mr. Caruba's opinions are uninformed and irresponsible. They differ little from the gun control crowd's opinion pieces in this regard. Would Mr. Caruba have the tens of millions of everyday Americans who take anti-depressants deprived of their fundamental right to keep and bear arms despite them posing no likelihood of danger to themselves or others? Moreover, it is irresponsible to compare SSRIs and the disorders they are used to treat (such as depression and anxiety) to and a powerful anti-psychotic like Fanapt and the disorders it is used to treat (like schizophrenia). If Mr. Caruba wishes to speak on this issue, he needs to rely on more than junk science, conspiracy theorists, and talking heads.
