‘‘(c) PROTECTION OF SECOND AMENDMENT GUN RIGHTS.—
‘‘(1) WELLNESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS.—A wellness and health promotion activity implemented under subsection (a)(1)(D) may not require the disclosure or collection of any information relating to—
‘‘(A) the presence or storage of a lawfully-possessed firearm or ammunition in the residence or on the property of an individual; or
‘‘(B) the lawful use, possession, or storage of a firearm or ammunition by an individual.
‘‘(2) LIMITATION ON DATA COLLECTION.—None of the authorities provided to the Secretary under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by that Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used for the collection of any information relating to—
‘‘(A) the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition;
‘‘(B) the lawful use of a firearm or ammunition; or
‘‘(C) the lawful storage of a firearm or ammunition.
‘‘(3) LIMITATION ON DATABASES OR DATA BANKS.—None of the authorities provided to the Secretary under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by that Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used to maintain records of individual ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition.

Background checks, mental health screenings, gunshow loopholes and magazine limits are just attempts to have chickens peck us to death.
Support the Firearms Freedom Act in your state. (Before reading Mr. Howard’s article, I supported a VOLUNTARY ban on magazines holding more than 30 rounds. Now, I wouldn’t concede the time of day.)

I have no problem with background checks when buying at a gun show or gun shop. I dont see how they could enforce a me to you sale.

What part of “well regulated” is lost on everyone (Hanbo)? How can most of you not support even the most limited enforcment of EXISTING laws? Regarding those who want to refuse to report private sales, I ask why? If you do not own the weapon any more, it has no affect upon you and if the person buying is not a felon or psych case (neither of whom anyone thinks should own a weapon I presume) why would you object? The problem is that no one can take all of this puffing seriously (by those posting here) which makes many of you sound like fools.

We all need to step back and look at what happened in Conn. No one wants to be told that their littles were not coming home. For us to take away our freedoms is not the answer, we need the thorough background check on handguns,shotguns,high powered rifles,and ammo. These should not be ever overlooked by sales staffs at any sporting goods store, or independent gun store. If you don’t have any thing to hide it should be no problem. Our government needs to step back and let each state have control over it’s individual gun policies. Let each state act on it’s own.

What part of “shall not be infringed”does masterpig obongo not understand?Today in the U.S.S.A.there are over 20,000gun laws,begining in 1934,all of which are unconstitutional.I say to hell w/mandatory background checks!Noone “background checked”the kenyan muslim before he became our dictator!

Hamm, They were careful to not “Remove” from us. These small bites plus the ones that need to be voted on are the very small steps to achieve the Goal they have wanted for some time especially with this person whom we no nothing about. I will not support an action that makes it hard to for future gun owners to purchase a gun. It seems that this action will definitly infringe on our constitutional rights and promote more gun violence than solutions to keep America safe.
