I live in Goochland County and was happy that some sort of compromise had been reached between the many residents who opposed this range and the few actual Goochland county residents who supported it. This measure was voted down 5 to 1 before the restrictions were agreed upon. The impact on property values alone should have been enough to cause this measure to be defeated but the impact on quality of life for nearby residents is immeasurable.
However, from the tone of this article, it appears that nothing short of complete capitulation will do for you. If you would just try to understand that compromise is not synonymous with defeat then maybe the rest of the world wouldn't look upon you as demented violence freaks with a completely self-serving agenda. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is NOT a fundamental human right. It is a Constitutional right - one that was granted by law and can be taken away by law. A fundamental right is one that can neither be granted by law nor taken away by it. You need to learn the difference between the two. A fundamental right is the right to live in a peaceful, non-toxic environment - unpolluted by lead and needless noise. I will now work harder than ever to have even greater restrictions imposed on the range.
"Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc. (VCDL). VCDL is an all-volunteer, non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to defending the human rights of all Virginians." That is a laugh. For my part, I'll thank you to stay as far away from my human rights as you can. Thanks for confirming my already low opinion of your group.
