My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War,on both sides in the Civil War,In the Texas Revolution, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. Recently, my relatives have fought in the Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. My roots are ties to the very foundation of this country. When I joined the Marines I took an oath to protect the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. I never un-took that oath. REFUSE TO DISARM !!! Molone Abbe.

They know what they took the oath for and they don’t care. By hook or by crook they intend to take our rights away. They don’t care if it is legal or illegal. Remember the Viet Nam demonstrations? That is what we need to give them. It will come down to having to break the law to save our freedoms. Congress or the president don’t care what we want. They think they know what is best for us and they intend to give it to us even if it is against the law. “Fast & Furious” was against the law but it served it’s purpose in Obama 2nd term grab for our guns. Never mind that it was murder and cover up on his part and the ATF. Obama’s motto is, “don’t do as I do, do as I say.”

I feel for you guys in the blue states, I also think that the democrats are vastly overplaying their hand here and will regret their actions in the next round of elections. They have now galvanized even democrats who own guns..the ballot is a mighty weapon be sure to exercise it!

SB281 is a sheer attack on law-abiding gun owners. MSP already has the names of all the law-abiding gun owners. Law-abiding gun owners already pay taxes on their gun purchases. Law-abiding gun owners complete the forms for the FBI and MSP to purchase firearms. Law-abiding gun owners have a 7 day cooling off period when purchasing a firearm. Criminals do not follow any of these procedures. There should be a comprehensive attack on criminal activity and illegal guns flowing into the state. It’s obvious that SB 281 is politically motivated and is unnecessary legislature. It does not guarantee public safety. The state of Maryland already have appropriate gun laws on the books for law-abiding gun owners. Your focus should be on school safety and mental illness.
Democrats should not under-estimate the passion of law-abiding gun owners. Democrats should be aware of political repercussions in future elections.

This story reminds me ,when the city of Denver ,back in 1989 had their assault weapons ban [it passed].There were at least 1200 pro gun supporters [at least] turn up.the anti gun crowd couldn’t muster a 100.They ran out of speakers in about an hour.The pro gun supporters kept going till they shut down the debates.
The next day the news said it was an even turn out.That was the last day i believed in the news, November 6TH 2012 was the last day i believed in an election.
