Hey SBeecher, read the UK newspapers. On any given day they are screaming about more ‘knife control’. There was an article in the British Medical Journal back on 2005 about how they felt that banning kitchen knives with pointy tips would solve their murder problems. I’m not kidding.

Don’t you see? We don’t have a gun problem, or a knife problem. We have a politician problem! Crime has been declining for the last three decades, and do they point that out? No, because it doesn’t fit their agenda. And they do have an agenda. And like Nazi Germany in 1933, it might take a while to see exactly what their agenda is. Let history be a warning. Most of Germany had no idea where they were heading in 1933. Most of them still had no idea in 1943. And parroting talking points from CNN makes you look like a tool. Why not try thinking for yourself?

You want to really reduce crime even further? Stop this BS ‘war on drugs’ that has created organized crime south of the border, along with human trafficking and assassinations in broad daylight.

And you neglect to mention that contrary to mass media the violent crime statistics by the Justice dept continue to show major declines. Chicago is an example of your success and I suggest you relocate there . You would exchange rights for permitted privileges. As a result you deserve neither.

What disturbs me most is not the stictly logical of factual aspects of this debate, but the tone of it. This is not really about the 2nd Amendment. Instead, it really is about whether a profoundly selfish wish to not be included as a responsible member of a society with 315 million members can be sanctioned by majority will through Congress. The amount of killing being done by people, whether you can define them as criminals or not, by using guns has reached an intolerable point. Some sort of regulation that restricts the overall supply, especially of mass kill capacity weapons, needs to become law. What sort will probably take years and decades to work out. Everyone who wants to reduce violence in our society should be interested in the ways that laws car really work, in the limited way they do, and in other means and methods for actually making progress.

Reasonable? I just read an article in the UK where several folks were facing sentences of up to 16 years for the posession of a bolt action .22lr caliber rifle. Think about that Mr. Purdy, AH Fox, Holland and Holland, etc. You too Mr Fudd. Of course the “media” called this fine old Brno .22 a “deadly sniper weapon” Sound familliar ? The US media is allready on this page. They further described the box of .22 LR h.p. ammo as “maximum damage ammunition”. This my Fudd ‘friends’ is where ‘reasonable’ leads. Straight to hell. Here is reasonable , one we surrender nothing, two we fight to prosecute and investigate any actions or votes taken in violation of the US Constitution, or infraction against the peoples rights. That is the only reasonable solution at this point. If you voted as an elected representative for the NDAA? You belong in prison . If you you vote to remove any right under the first, second,fourth amendments etc. ? You go to jail. Undeclared wars same. Support of fiat currency and paying of unconstitutional interest to a private central bank? Well that one at this point deserves a trail and long drop on a hemp rope!
