BOGART, Ga. --( The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is pleased to announce that Brian Towe has joined the organization as a Wildlife Management Cooperative Specialist.

Towe comes to QDMA from the Missouri Department of Conservation, where he was a conservation agent.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to work with such a professional organization,” said Towe. “It’s a deer manager’s dream to ‘talk shop’ about deer as a profession. I’m looking forward to working with Missouri landowners in an effort to improve the quality of habitat and wildlife programs in our state.”

Brian will work with private landowners to establish and support Wildlife Management Cooperatives throughout the state of Missouri. He will also conduct habitat management training for private landowners and help coordinate private land assistance programs with Missouri Department of Conservation staff. Brian’s duties will also include participating in projects to promote wildlife conservation, conservation education and Missouri’s hunting heritage. He will help increase awareness of QDMA by recruiting new members, and he will promote QDMA’s national programs and conservation partner programs.

“I am excited to have Brian join the QDMA staff,” said QDMA Director of Education and Outreach Kip Adams. “His experience in Missouri and his knowledge of the state’s regional habitat and cultural diversity make him a perfect fit for this position.”

Brian has worked at the Missouri Department of Conservation since 1999. His work with the agency started in fisheries, and in 2001, he became a conservation agent, a role in which he has garnered several award recognitions. Brian was named the Southeast Region Conservation Agent of the Year in both 2004 and 2011, and in 2010, he was named the Southeast Region United Bowhunters of Missouri Conservation Agent of the Year. Additionally, George Clark’s Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation named him its Wildlife Officer of the Year in 2005. Brian also worked in maintenance with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources from 1997-2000.

Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000, and he also earned minors in Agriculture and Criminal Justice. Brian and his wife of more than 12 years have two children, a 7-year-old son, Landon, and a 5-month-old daughter, Raylee.
