New Jersey – -(Ammoland.com)- The newly emerged Firearms Equality Movement is gaining more steam among manufactures and gun rights supporters alike.

The firearms industry, in reaction to the Governor of New York ramming through the NY SAFE Act which banned AR15 style rifles, has seen multiple manufactures revise their firearms sales polices to restrict LEO and Police Agencies from only buying the same level of firepower as is allowed for the average citizen of their state.

Thereby helping to make the citizens equal to police and law enforcement agencies with in the same state, and, in some part, making rouge politicians accountable for their actions trying to disarm the people.

It is important to note that the Movement is not asking industry to join a “conspiracy” but only to make their own sales policies support the right of the individual to keep and bear the same arms as all other classes of people in their respective states. The Firearms Movement is just that, a movement and not collusion, as some have suggested. In the end each and every company is free to do business as they wish.

The List of Manufactures as complied by NC Gun Blog has continued to grow and at last count (2-27-2013)  included the following.

As of yet we have not seen the big four manufactures, Glock, Sig Saur, Smith & Wesson and Ruger, that supply the majority of police contracts, make the same policy changes. We understand they are beholden to their stock holders, but I am still hopeful that they will move to support their biggest customer of all, the American people.

I want to let hem know that I will buy all I can from any company that protects my rights, to help make up for any loss of sale they may experience by limiting police sales.

It is great to see manufactures banding together to protect the rights of their customers and hold politicians accountable for their acts disarming the American public.

As this movement evolves I would like to see this become an unsaid blanket policy that applies to all states, especially New York, New Jersey, Maryland, California and anywhere else where honest law abiding citizens need the right to keep and bear arms of equal fire power as the state the live in.

For more info and an easy tools that you can use to write firearms manufactures, encouraging them to make their own policy’s one that will hold the line for you and me, visit:

no kidding I was going to purchase a 10/22 and a glock(my first glock) have to put that on hold now,not a threat but rather a promise.
It goes deeper then gun and ammo manufactures though. I am boycotting anyone trying to take my rights and not just 2nd ammendment

LHTwist

@DaveGinOly – This is a movement not extortion. All of the manufacturers are quite aware by now and fully understand the impact of their actions, or lack thereof. While some of your suggestions are centered on the exact message this movement was intended to convey, your terms of delivery are more akin to the tactics used by the politicians who made the movement necessary in the first place. I understand your anger but we’re better than that, better than liberal politicians, so let’s show them the error of their ways without resorting to their cowardly methods. Support those who support… Read more »

And Heckler and Koch should be boycotted by the American people.

DHS signed a multi million dollar contract with them.

H&K are the preferred guns of European soldiers and police

Correction to previous comment: NRA-ILA needs to get on board with this movement. Their “American Rifleman” magazine CONTAINS a LOT of companies that are not on the above stated list that recognize the importance of INDIVIDUALS’ rights for collective bargaining that relate to OUR 2ND. No inference was meant to any relationship between the NRA and their advertisers. Sorry!

Fred Sager

NRA-ILA needs to get on board with this movement. Their “American Rifleman” magazine promotes a LOT of companies that do not recognize the importance of INDIVIDUALS’ rights for collective bargaining that relate to OUR 2ND.

Thanks, Robert, for the link. I just sent the following missive: “I am an owner of a 10/22 (purchased 9/12), and love it. Looking at Ruger for additional purchases. With the current climate of gun grabs and banning going on, Ruger is on the front line of having to evaluate its role in leadership regarding a corporate stance on the support of 2nd Amendment Rights. Many companies are lining up to restrict sale of products to states/governments who are restricting 2nd Amendment freedoms. I encourage Ruger, as a key supplier to LE, to join the list. Thank you.”

Dr. Leonard Romansoff

I agree with Jim Green. Where is the so-called equality that our angelic administration professes?

James Green

I wish we could get ammunition company’s to stop selling to the government until American citizens buy all they want.

Bdamon

Nice patch in the photo, would be great to have some to put on my gear.

DrSique

Almost as important as limiting government purchases on firearms would be magazine limitations. All of the companies involved should only sell seven round mags to LEOs in New York State and anywhere else that the rights of Americans are being i fringed upon. Let Cuomo’s personal security detail worry about whether they will hear the hammer drop on an empty chamber when it matters most. As someone who lives in NY, I applaud each of these companies for taking a stand for the liberties of all free Americans.

Robert

The online contact form for Ruger is a bit tough to find as it’s posted on their corporate site but here it is: https://www.ruger.com/dataProcess/contactSupport.php

WhiteRabbit

In the 60’s anti-whites forced ALL and ONLY white countries to open their borders to non-white immigrants. Then anti-whites forced ALL and ONLY white people to “integrate” or face consequences for being “naziswhowantokill6millionjews.” Now anti-whites are counting down the days until ALL and ONLY white children become minorities and eventually extinct EVERYWHERE. It’s Genocide. “Anti-racist” is a codeword for anti-white.

H. Ledford

Glock should remember that, in the 90’s, they were the evil gun because of the high capacity magazines and were summarily demonized. They, as well as Beretta, Remmington, Ruger, Sig and other manufacturers should follow Wilson Combat’s example to make a stand NOW before it gets totally out of control. Enough of the nonsense.

Becker

Liberals can call this movement anything they want to. We don’t give a damn. And not auto to any cops or military. If we can’t have them, they shouldn’t.

carl c roten

I understand that a big Oboma fan who spent a lot of money on the Oboma election is buying up all the magazines he can and shut them down.It also stated they were buying any media shop that was anti gun control. People we need to wake up as we are headed for a fight like some of you have never seen. We need each other more than ever.

The Maryland law is going to pass. Just passed the Senate, hearing in the House today. Sad and disturbing to watch ‘the land of the free’ pass into cliche.

Bob Davis

I have only been shooting two years but I love the sport. I fully support this movement. If Baretta does move out of Maryland we have plenty of open space in Utah, and thanks to Obama lots of people looking for work.

Chad@ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

First and foremost I would like to thank God for giving us the Founding Fathers that he did. Those that had the foresight and wisdom to make this the 2nd Amendment of the Consitution. Secondly I would like to thank all of those on the list that have taken this stand. Also my hat is off to Wilson Combat and Armalite,Inc. for also taking up this cause and posting those policies openly on their wesites as recently as of today and standing up for Firearms Equality Movement. The support is so fast that we can hardly keep track of those… Read more »

I fully support the movement. We need to put the governmental people in check.

BERRETA AND ALL YOU FIREARMS AND AMMO MANUFACTURERS COME ON TO TEXAS YOU ALL ARE WELCOME HERE

Ken

We’ll invite all the firearms mfgs to move to Texas, then when we secede, we’ll have a jump on being the best armed nation in the world!

Tom

Over a year ago I finally choked on all the evil things the feds were doing and put a notice on my website that I would no longer sell my product (not related to firearms) to any federal agency. That puts me way out in front of the crowd. Now strange things are going on with the IRS that makes me suspect being put on an “enemies list” and marked out for harassment. All of these manufacturers should be on the lookout for similar treatment, and be ready to respond with squeaky-clean books (as I am).

Luke Walker

I support Equality and would like to see a list of those firearms manufacturers and distributors that haven’t signed. Some big names are obviously missing.

Ted Harlan

I support the companies that are taking actions like this and encourage all group of hunters and shooters to do the same. Political hacks understand buying power, and we have buying power!

MICHAEL A CROGNALE

How about a list of those gun and ammunition manufacturers who are not boycotting? I’d like to see that. We could put pressure on them to join the boycott. Any that refuse would be subject to boycott by those of us who buy their products.

Jamie

Great idea.

D. Murphy

I fully support the EQUALITY, lets use their tactics against them.

DaveGinOly

We need the firearms magazine and online review and promotion sites to tell those in the industry – “Get on board, or we will no longer review your products.” At least, print mag publishers should tell them “Your firearms will never again be featured on the covers of our magazines unless you get with the program.” This exposure is worth millions of dollars to them – why not threaten to cut it off? There’s a tipping point somewhere at which it will be less expensive for them to get on the list. Also, print and online sources can (and should)… Read more »

Jim, youth is the time of idealism, when many believe that there can be utopian societies. Then you grow up and realize that’s not possible, and that things that look real good on paper don’t necessarily work out in reality. Unfortunately, some people never realize this. Others try to use the gullibility of others to their political advantage.

“…those without swords can still die upon them.” -JRR Tolkien

Jim

I was always against guns and thought NRA was bad. When I was a lot younger. Changed my view a long time ago but never had a gun. Going to soon!

Tom

Real Equality will be when the Citizen is first in line to buy available guns and ammo, and govt, police, DHS, get what’s left over, if any… DHS just bought 7000 fully automatic M16’s, so it’s time we get to get ours too..

VAB

And just WTF does DHS need fully automatic M16’s for anyway? Don’t we have the army, navy, air force and national guard to defend our homeland?

joe

if DHS gets one, so will I ,only reasonable to be armed alike???

TrojanMan

Old Grouch’s Military Surplus in Clyde, NC was the first. Just putting that out there.

Roy

I went to the websites of the big 4 to get their contact email addresses and sent a nice email asking those companies to join the fight. I certainly do not want to hinder out LEO’s from doing their job but a lot f police chiefs and Sheriffs carry a bit of weight in their states and they can apply a lot of pressure on the politicians. Sheriffs are elected, they can stand up to the politicians in their state. I would encourage everyone to send every firearm manufacturer an email asking them to join the above list. I especially… Read more »

That should even cover full auto’s to . If we were still able to buy them ( with the blessing of the masters ) a M-16 would run about the same as the AR-15 and the wepons that fire from a open bolt would be even less money . We can thank daddy bush for this .

Steve Kovali

You might want to consider adding links to Boycott recipients websites and suggest to your readers that they should support only those companies who support us and our 2nd Amendment rights.

Thank you for doing what you do!.

EthanP

And lets not forget Beretta is saying they’ll leave Maryland if they pass their draconian gun bans.
