Illinois --(Ammoland.com)- Otto Von Bismarck once said “you never want to watch the making of sausage or law”. Somehow he must have known about the Illinois legislature.
Last night in a several-hour session we watched something we have never seen before. HB1155, a shell bill, which is a bill without language, was debated on the floor.
The substance of the bill was made up of some 31 amendments to the bill. Some amendments were adopted, some voted down, and some are still pending. In the end, we came out with a concealed carry bill which needs a lot of work.
No matter, remember I told you: CCW was going to be a long protracted fight and we made progress last night.
If this were a football game we would be in the first five minutes of the first quarter.
IGOLD, Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day, is next week on Wednesday. It is important that you be there. Try to arrive at the Prairie Capital Convention Center by 11:30 AM. I will see you there!!Richard Pearson
