Crows have been protected for many, many years pretty much all over the world by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. However, many states have very generous seasons on crows.

LOL! I wish I had known back in the 70′s that eating crow would make a good magazine article! My first experience with calling crows was VERY productive and over a period of time, I almost felt guilty for killing so many so I breasted a few of them out and baked them and it was damned good! After that, we had crow every week or so.

Killing of crows and many other birds in SC are now illegal. Never mind if they eat up your crops. Just as criminals, they now have more rights than we do.
