Illinois Right to Carry Update – What happened in the House Debate Last Week?

Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)-  In a week of unprecedented zany political maneuvers rarely seen even in Illinois, the Right to Carry debate raged on the floor of the IL House for nearly 9 hours this past Tuesday.

The message going forward is simple:

  • No bad Carry bill
  • No more gun bans or gun control

Witness Slips Needed for Firearm Related Bills

While the debate rages on in the IL House about what form Right to Carry is going to take in the state of Illinois and whether or not the  mayor of Chicago can gin up enough support for a ban on our defensive, sporting, and hunting firearms there are some other issues that need our immediate attention.  Please take the time to file witness slips for the following bills which will be heard in House committees on Mar. 5, 6, and 7th.

To simplify the witness slip process:

  1. Go to https://my.ilga.gov/ and register/create an account.
  2. Confirm Email
  3. Go to My ILGA and edit your profile – put NA for organization, title, and who you represent.
  4. You can now create witness slips quickly and easily!

 

  • HB1513 Denies home rule regarding ordinances more restrictive than state statute -witness slip –  Proponent
  • HB1526 Exemption for FOID holders who have applied for, but not received, a FOID renewal – witness slip – Proponent

I saw on one of these articles that someone wanted to start a tax to cover the cost of back ground checks for CWP. We already pay for these checks when we apply for a CWP and any tax is just a lie about what it is being used for. Most likely going to gun grabbers to further their agenda. Keep up the fight and don’t let anyone lie to you.

When Illinois was granted Statehood, the Second Amendment was part of the Constitution. The Constitution is the BINDING AGREEMENT between all of the States of the union. Thus, the Second Amendment is part of that BINDING AGREEMENT between the States. The language of the Second Amendment is quite clear and not “open to interpretation”. Any “law” passed by Chicago, or the State of Illinois, that violates the Constitution, or the Second Amendment, is a violation of LAW and need not be obeyed … from it’s inception.
