Yes, Obama has this new thing going with his wine and dinning representatives. “A meal for a Deal!” Don’t our votes come cheap these days? We can’t vote him out but we can them. 2014 is going to be settle up time and bring in a new batch who know what they stand for and what they don’t. Its a shame our leaders,if you classify them that, what a joke, would stand up for our rights
instead of using tragic events for their purposes or to completely disregard our constitution
is non-American. I, B H Obama,swear to uphold…. Uphold what? Not our constitution thats for sure..
American is not the true America anymore sorry to say, if it was we would not be having this

Background checks are done most of the time, with the exception of private sales. If they can figure a way to exempt family and close friends, there may be a compromise, but registrations, fingerprinting, bans, etc are not the answer to the problems at hand. The rifles in question are responsible for a fraction of violent crimes compared to blunt objects. Start by enforcing the laws on the books now. 13 convictions on illegal purchases out of 76,000, is horrible. Keep violent offenders in prison longer, with no time off for good behavior. An third strike offender can go back for life. There are plenty of ways to help the problem, but bans and restricts, hurt law abiding citizens, and helps the criminals. Obviously, the current administration enjoys hurting the public, but I would expect more from our conservatives. Anyone who support the bans or restrictions must need to be replaced….

The Constitution and the Second Amendment are not at issue. That theme is being hyped to exploit emotion. Think about it clearly.

What is being debated through the political process, is how to do something responsible for public safety. It looks like there is the most support for improving background checks. Beyond that, the debate is all over the map.

If conservatives would support increased funding for mental health services and tightening involuntary commitment standards, that would be a help. The need for better background checks comes from the results of cutting and blocking reform in those areas, over the years

Solving the problem of mass killings and gun violence in general will take sustained effort and lots of debate for many years to come. The more responsible people contribute clear minded rationality to problem solving instead of emotional trigger pulling, the more likely it will be that the results of the process will actually address the real issues.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy has revealed that the Republicans do not control the House!

In fact, under Rep. Boehner’s “leadership”, it is now controlled by a group of “moderate/liberal” Republican representatives joined with the united Democratic representatives! McCarthy has stated that the House would pass gun control and immigration bills. He clearly meant that conservatives should shut the hell up!

I’ve been a conservative all my life and at one point, when I was hired as a deputy sheriff, took an Oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. I’ve never rescinded that Oath, and I particularly believe in and hold the 2nd Amendment as the “meat and muscle” which holds the Constitution together and assures my children and grand-children that there will be a Constitution tomorrow and for centuries to come. But, unfortunately there are some conservatives in Washington that are close to breaking their Oaths of Office and committing TREASON by allowing and/or helping a minority to INFRINGE on our God given Constitutional Rights by trying to weaken the 2nd Amendment. We need those Representatives to “man up/woman up” and not cowardly bow to minority pressure and continue to make sure that our Rights will be here for another 200+ years!!!

I thought that they had the balls to impeach him because of Benghazi, not an american and what he has done to the constitution. But the only one I have seen that deserves to be there is Rand Paul. I have voted primarily Republican for most of my life, because I agreed w/them in most areas. I will never become a Democrat. I might vote for a conservative Democrat (oxymoron?) if he actually believed in conservative values. I am VERY disappointed in supposedly conservative Republicans that are bowing under the pressure of the Liberals & are turning traitor to their formerly held views. Maybe we could convince some Dems how wrong their part’s stand is on so many issues & vote their conscience, even if it means standing up to the anti-gun, pro-homosexual stand of their party. We will see.
