NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)- On Monday, the Assembly Committee on Revenue and Taxation will hear testimony pertaining to Assembly Bill 760 (Dickinson) that seeks to impose a sales tax of .05 cents per ammunition component (complete cartridge, bullet or case) in an already sparse environment for ammunition.

Then on Tuesday the committee process will be in full swing when the focus is on numerous anti-gun bills.  First the California Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife will hear AB 711, a bill introduced by Assembly member Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood). If passed and signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown, this bill would extend the now limited Condor range ban on traditional lead ammunition to the entire state. The ban could go into effect as soon as the 2016 hunting season.  All of us who hunt may as well get used to paying exorbinant amounts for ammunition.

Also on Tuesday, if what has already been proposed is not horrible enough the Senate Committee on Public Safety will be taking up some of the most restrictive pieces of gun legislation proposed in California.  The bills range from Senate Bill 293 (DeSaulnier) which bans the sale of conventional handguns, and implements “Owner Authorized – Smart” handgun technology to  Senate Bill 374 (Steinberg) which expands the definition of “assault weapons” to ban the future sale of almost all semi-auto rifles (including rimfire) that accept a detachable magazine.

You can contact legislators here urging them to OPPOSE the anti-gun bills listed above.

I live in Calif and we are trying but it is simply that the Senators are corrupt and they will not listen to the side they dont care to hear from..It is as simple as that. You all forget we have Feinswine here and she is a anti gun nutcase.

I live in CA and deal with the laws. It really is not as bad as people from other states seem to think except when it comes to non-C&R handguns that are not on the “roster of safe guns.” This would be something like a S&W Model 29-2 or a Gen 4 Glock. Idiotic rules. And there is the 10 day wait which is now something like……30 in some cases. BUT!!! If the proposed legislation passes I will move so Texas, welcome me with open arms. You’re on the short list along with Utah, Montana and Nevada. Unfortunately, California is… Read more »

@mac,I really understand what you’re saying.I live in Texas, and like you feel about VA,I thank God I’m in Texas too. It’s a shame that people in California or any other of these anti-constitution states should have to leave in order to keep their God given rights to self defense. HBH

I know things are tough as a whole in this country. But, I think GOD for the moment that I live in a state that for the moment is very gun friendly (VA). I cannot for the life of me, understand why the good people of CA do not get up off their rear ends and move out of of there! You guys have been crapped on long enough and you have more coming in the near and very far future as far as taking away personal rights! Wake UP.
