USA –-(Ammoland.com)- Frank Moore is a 90-year-old WWII D-Day/Battle of the Bulge Veteran, Freshwater Fly-Fishing Hall of Fame Inductee, and has been honored the highest military award by the French government; Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor.

I met Frank last summer fly-fishing on the North Umpqua River as part of a small production crew shooting a short profile piece on him for Travel Oregon and a PBS television show called Oregon Field Guide. The 90-year-old Moore expressed to us that one of his unfulfilled dreams was to return to Normandy, France, to fly-fish the streams that he crossed as a soldier shortly after D-Day.

We felt compelled to help bring this dream to fruition.

Uncage the Soul Productions, located in Portland, Oregon is in the midst of a crowd funding campaign to raise money and support to realize Frank’s dream of returning to Normandy to fly-fish. We have the opportunity to produce a feature-length documentary film on his accomplished life and return to Normandy with him and his wife of 70 years, Jeanne. While Frank is in exceptional physical and mental health given his age, there is also that certain inevitability that has claimed all but a handful of our WWII veterans. I am reaching out to ask for your support in telling this story.

Our plan is to travel to Luxembourg and France for Memorial Day and D-Day this year. Along the way we will document the experience of what is likely to be one of the final chapters in Frank’s storied life.

For full project details please review the Indiegogo campaign including the documentary trailer here:

It is our hope that when you have the opportunity to view the trailer, you will understand the importance of this project and the value of sharing his story with your audience. In a time where we need hope and inspiration, someone like Frank can provide that and a sense of understanding, compassion and love that our society craves.

We are working against two challenging conditions:

  1. An ambitious goal: Your support now will close that gap and be a catalyst for others to donate. And we have structured this campaign so it is not an all or nothing proposition like Kickstarter. We can use all money raised even if we do not meet our stated goal.
  2. Time: With 3 days left in the campaign, there is not a sense of urgency to contribute today. Please help us move the needle by contributing as soon as you can. If you are unable to contribute financially, here are some other very valuable ways you can help us.

Share the Project. What veteran, outdoor, fly-fishing, or river conservation proponents or organizations do you know who would be interested in Frank Moore: Mending the Line?

Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail and feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions.

Sincerely,
