Augusta, GA –-(Ammoland.com)-  Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) and Pinetucky Gun Club near Augusta, GA co-hosted their 3rd 3-gun match featuring 2-man teams comprised of a disabled veteran/injured military person and a club member sponsor in a full day event that featured teamwork, marksmanship, great BBQ and good fellowship.

This popular event has been a staple on the club’s calendar since 2010, and allows the disabled veteran or injured military personnel and member the opportunity to share their enthusiasm for shooting sports. These were classic trap, rifle and pistol stages, and each wounded warrior received a gift bag full of valuable outdoor accessories.

“Having the HAVA event return to our club each year is a highlight for us,” said Pinetucky Club Manager Steve Meldrum. “Our members are proud to each host one of these American heroes, and its fun to watch the teamwork that develops between partners from very different backgrounds and generations. HAVA has the right idea about helping these guys with their rehab – get them outside with a gun and watch the confidence grow. These are accomplished people that have suffered great personal tragedies and our members are proud to express America’s thanks.”

“The folks at Pinetucky have certainly made the veterans feel welcome each year,” said HAVA Chairman Tom Taylor. “And the team competition is always a hit as we watch that camaraderie grow throughout the day. Many of these wounded warriors have spent months in hospital wards or recovery and really enjoy just being part of a team again in the outdoors. We believe in the therapeutic benefit of active outdoor sports, and our veteran guests invariably express how empowered they feel after such an invigorating day of competition.”
