Colorado ––(Ammoland.com)- Is Republican Speaker John Boehner preparing to bail-out Barack Obama AGAIN?
The Washington, D.C. news source The Hill reported yesterday that “. . . Speaker Boehner is more involved in the behind-the-scenes wrangling of how to move a gun bill than the Ohio Republican has let on in public.”
They also report that powerful Republican House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia has had “. . . a lot of discussions with Speaker John Boehner on guns.”
This is exactly the type of “back-room” deal-cutting of your Second Amendment rights I’ve been warning you about for months.
And with my Capitol Hill legislative team reporting that there are dozens of House Republicans itching to support a gun control “compromise,” your grassroots action is needed TODAY.
They must hear your message loud and clear: “No Gun Control, No Deals.”
While Harry Reid and Barack Obama continue working to twist arms in the Senate, the fight over gun control is clearly spreading to the House.
As you may remember, Speaker Boehner has been all-too-willing to bail-out Barack Obama in recent months.
Late last year he caved to Obama’s demands on the debt limit, and earlier this year he cut a deal with Obama to raise taxes on the American people.
How many dinners at the White House will it take for House Speaker John Boehner to sell our Second Amendment rights down the river like he’s done on so many other issues?
I don’t know about you, but I’m not willing to find out.
That’s why it’s absolutely vital you call speaker Boehner and Judiciary Chairman Goodlatte and your Congressman IMMEDIATELY and tell them to OPPOSE all oncoming gun control “deals.”
You see, if there’s one thing you and I have learned during the first five years of Obama’s presidency, it’s that he will do whatever it takes to get his way.
Twisting rules. Twisting the truth. Threatening and demonizing the opposition. Effectively bribing Members of Congress with schemes like the “Cornhusker Kickback.”
You name it.
And after Boston’s terror attack, gun-grabbers claimed that the terrorists used guns without going through Massachusetts’ registration scheme proves we need a national gun registration system! Up is down in the gun-grabbers’ world.
Now, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is threatening, “It is only a matter of time” until he get the votes he needs to win.
And House Speaker Boehner is playing right into his hands.
Less than 24 hours after the United States Senate voted on a series of anti-gun amendments, Speaker Boehner announced the House would also “look at [gun violence]!”
Items the House will “look at” include two of the absolute WORST of President Obama’s top priorities — all veiled under the friendly guise of “bipartisanship” — including:
*** The Toomey-Manchin “Background Check” (NATIONAL GUN REGISTRATION) Bill. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is working feverishly to round up the Senate votes he needs and he can bring up this bill in the Senate at virtually any time.
Now, Peter King (R-NY) has introduced similar legislation in the House. And Pat Toomey stated, “I know there are a substantial number of House Republicans that are supportive of this general approach;”
*** Anti-Gun “Trafficking” ATF Witch Hunt Legislation, which is designed to unleash an ATF reign of terror where Second Amendment supporters are nailed to the wall for making simple mistakes.
The only way gun owners will be able to prove their innocence is if the federal government signs off on every firearm transfer with a national gun registry.
Things are very fluid, but the ATF Witch Hunt Bill I mentioned is perhaps the greatest threat at this point.
Under this bill, just buying a shotgun for a son returning home from Afghanistan so you can spend some time in the woods hunting like the old days, could be enough to land you in jail for 20 years — should he happen to fall under Attorney General Eric Holder’s changing definition of a “prohibited person.”
And under ATF Witch Hunt legislation, it doesn’t matter if you know whether someone is a “prohibited person” or not — you’re going to prison either way.
It could hardly work out more perfectly for the gun-grabbers.
President Obama only needs two more votes to RAM this bill through the Senate — and after the first Senate vote, he knows exactly who he needs to pressure.
In the House, Republican Scott Rigell of Virginia has introduced ATF Witch Hunt legislation with Democrat Carolyn Maloney of New York, giving President Obama the bipartisan gun-grab he’s craving.
Worse for you and me, Speaker Boehner passed three bills through the U.S. House against the will of a majority of Republicans already this year — something that’s long been a no-no for Republican Speakers.
Boehner just counted on Nancy Pelosi to round up the Democrat votes he needed to pass President Obama’s statist schemes.
Now, Speaker Boehner is REFUSING to say he won’t do so again when it comes to grabbing our Second Amendment rights — even before President Obama launches yet another round of “dinner diplomacy” where he wines and dines Members of Congress into voting his way!
Should he choose to, Speaker Boehner could single-handedly kill any gun bill he wants by simply refusing to allow it to come to the floor.
But so far he hasn’t . . .
That’s why your IMMEDIATE action is so critical.
This fight is FAR from over in the Senate. And House movement on gun control could begin any day, as well.
So you and I cannot afford to let up the pressure on Congress for an instant.
Instead, I must turn up the heat on members of BOTH houses of Congress and Speaker Boehner.
That means mail and email. TV ads. Web ads. An all-out media blitz . . .
In short, I need to keep running the program that proved so successful in turning back the Toomey-Manchin National Gun Registration Bill in the Senate.

*** Second Amendment supporters will not tolerate any “deals” that gut our gun rights.

Members of Congress think the pressure is off after the first round of Senate votes, and they’re free to wheel and deal in secret. Our job is to prove them DEAD WRONG.
