Remington Comments on NY SAFE Act

Madison, NC –-(Ammoland.com)- We believe the NY SAFE Act is unconstitutional and was passed in a questionable fashion.

Remington and its employees worked diligently with pro-gun legislators to prevent the Act’s passage. We actively participated in the Albany rallies and drove the letter-writing campaign to stop this anti-gun legislation.

The recently awarded Department of Defense (Special Operations Command) contract, questioned by some as a “pay-off,” has been in development for years — it has nothing to do with NY State.

While we are unhappy with the misguided acts of our elected politicians, Remington will not run or abandon its loyal and hard working 1,300 employees without considerable thought and deliberation.

Laws can be overturned and politicians voted out of office, but the decisions we make today will affect our people, their families and entire communities for generations.

Please bear with us as we determine the most appropriate way to satisfy our customers and protect our employees.

They (Remington) are owned by a private investment firm who undoubtedly does not care about principle, all they care about is the bottom line. They don’t have any skin in the game. If they REALLY cared about their employees they would move OUT of NY because it is their employees second amendment rights that are being taken away. I will never buy another Remington product while they blow this kind of smoke and stay in NY.

They are protecting their bottom line, they no more care about employees than Obama cares for anyone but himself.

I am a Remington Man, through and through. My father believed in Remington products. All I know is, it is time to stand up and be counted. The idea of remaining neutral has come to and end. With gov. urging people not to support investments with 401k’s and firearms, with banks not loaning money, and with the government officials out and out lying to take away the rights of the citizens, the lines have been drawn and the people want to know where companies stand. I hope Remington’s actions make more of an effort to clarify the company’s stance. The… Read more »
