Columbus, OH –-(Ammoland.com)- The California Assembly recently passed a ban on traditional ammunition containing lead that may result in a complete ban on all hunting ammunition.

Assembly Bill 711, which would outlaw the use of lead for hunting in California, passed the State Assembly on May 22nd by a vote of 44-21.

In a twist that presents a threat to all hunting, passage of AB 771 by the California Senate could stop all hunting with rifles as the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) may consider alternative rifle ammunition as “cop killer bullets” triggering a ban on those as well.

Now the bill is in the hands of the State Senate.  It’s already illegal to use traditional ammunition in Condor Range. If the Senate passes the bill, California would be the first state in the U.S. to take such action.

When coupled with the ban on hunting bears with hounds, passed in 2012, California is undisputed in its claim as the most unfriendly state to hunters in the country.  California sportsmen and women should not let this happen without a fight.  Senators need to know that there is no justification for a blanket ban on traditional ammunition, and they need to know about the potential ban on all ammo as a result of the actions of the legislature and ATF.

Take Action!  California sportsmen and women must contact their State Senators today.  Tell them to vote NO on AB 711.  To find your Senator’s contact information visit the USSA Legislative Action Center

Heres a thought, how about hunters going on strike in 2019 No vermin no Deer or any thing else. Let’s sit out a year and see what happens. when the state is crawling with Lyme disease infested Deer and plague carrying Squirrels who eat ranchers out of business. Add to that an infestation of feral hogs, California will be begging us to hunt in 2 years.
I’ll personally spare 2000 squirrels that spring , that way they will be real thick when the government comes to their senses.

Thanks for trying to increase awareness and getting people to take action.

Another back door piece of legislation to ban guns entirely. California deserves what it gets, a bankrupt state full of illegal aliens not paying taxes and increasing the welfare costs.

This same law was struck down in a federal court last week in another state. demorats care nothing for the people or the constitution. When they are elected all of sudden they are gods and know what is best for everyone.

What is going to be funny is how things will change because of having no hunting seasons. Game will get out of hand and the pink tights crowd will be before long be complaining about bears and mountain lions being in their neighborhoods. Without thinning the herds of wild animals, they won’t have enough food and will come to the cities where there is grass, water, and trash cans. It will be interesting to hear about the PETA crowd and how to deal with this situation.

Contacting elected officials is a waste of time. That is what they want. Move out of the state take your tax dollars with you. Screw these anti gun idiots and their treason committing burracrats.

With all due respect to those stuck in California who still believe in the US Constitution , I have to say that I dont even consider it or states like it to be part of the United States anymore. Occupied territories is in my mind a far more accurate term. Further I ,(and more importantly millions of others) now view the supporters of such shenanigans as the enemy. We all know whats coming now and as long as that includes politicians who have violated their oaths being tried, convicted, and hanged? There is hope . Otherwise this country will continue to swirl… Read more »
